  • spoke with retentions last night who adv me that because i have the friends and family discount i would have to pay £200 for the G1. I wouldnt mind but they were giving it away free last month to anyone on this price plan, and now they are trying to get the money back. looks like they will be losing another customer. Was thinking of leaving anyway as the customer service is disgusting now they have moved it abroad.

Sorry, but the call centres haven't all moved abroad, there are still a fair few here in the UK, thankfully at the moment means my jobs still here.
  • fair enough princess, but the odds of getting through to someone in england is virtually nil, unless u speak with retentions or upgrades, otherwise its 20 mins trying to ask them to explain your bill to you when it should take 2 mins

I just rang T-Mobile again for my upgrade....GOT

Free months web and walk trial
and a free handset upgrade to a Nokia 6600 slide

been phoning since december!! it really does change as u speak to different people there.
He told me ALL january handset deals were now set.

    ...mines coming tomorrow :)
  • For upgrades, is it better to go instore or through the call centre? I'm due an upgrade at the start of February, although I am expecting to be paying something towards a handset upgrade because my bills are usually less than £50.

Thanks, hopefully it'll get me a better deal and save me petrol money for the round trip into town.

This was on a combi 15 although I had downgraded midway through the contract. If I was sticking to a £15 a month deal the Renoir would be quite tempting for £6. Vario IV not listed though, guess it's a phonecall in the morning then..

    Are these upgrade costs?

Did you get these via "My T-Mobile"? When I login, and go to upgrades, it says

Sorry, we don't have any online offers for you at the moment. This could be because you're still in contract - you can text UP to 150 to find out.

I am however out of contract and been offered some shocking upgrade deals due to me having half price line rental via friends and family.
  • I agree with you andyb

I am also on friends and family deal, said would be £200 for a g1 and prob the same for a phone of similar standard. This seems a bit unfair as last month they were giving them away free if you had a upgrade and also before that you had £180 towards the upgrade of a phone, this has now been stopped and it looks like we are being made to pay for it
