Try to switch to the Solo SIM only deal that is £20, you get 500mins+unlimtied texts. And you get £10 discount, making it £100

When did you agree to the contract? If it was recently they may be able to do something since it was a discount renewal and not a phone. Give them a call, I'm sure they'll be able to sort something out for you.0

i would imagine they will have no problems moving you to a more expensive plan.
after all, it is in their interests to contract you to a higher monthly spend. The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits0 -
Been with T Mobile 4 1/2 years now and when my contract ends I always say never again. Got my notice that I am due an upgrade yesterday so I looked what they were offering. I was/am on the Flex 20 for £15 that doesn't exist anymore. The phones offered were, as I told the guy at retentions pretty s***e, no sorry they were very s***e. I was told even though this price plan doesn't exist anymore I could remain on it as it's in my contract, and as I will be off work for about 6 - 8 months I don't really need a phone much except to be contacted and a few calls when I'm at physio. He then we through the usual stuff what phone I was looking at and what I used it for, apart from calling. He offers the usual garbage and I told him I wasn't interested in those. So I pushed my luck abit and told him I quite liked the Samsung Tocco, this phone is £80 on the more expensive Flex 30 to my great surprise he said Ok, free. He must have been in a good mood as my normal bill is never above the £15 apart from 4 - 5 times a year I'm abroad, then usually only £30ish in total. So I am quite happy till the phone messes up as usual and then I'll say never T Mobile again :rolleyes:0

there is no point saying I've been with t-mobile or any network for x number of years. I'm pretty sure they look at the last three months spend, so if you are a millionnaire spending £1000 a month for the last ten years with them and then you go into a coma for 3 months and spend nothing, you will be quite disappointed when you get an offer from retentions that is quite poor.
The networks are not stupid they know it's a completely crappy way of determining customer value and it will change.
The whole market is going that way.... until now it was cheaper to get new customers than keep hold of existing ones. Now everyone has 3 phones the market is getting tougher and networks are gluing themselves to customers with incentives and the like which include rentetion deals that blow your mind. At the moment it's o2 that give good retentions. However if you're not an o2 customer now that is little point moving to 02 on that basis because by the time 12 or 18 months have passed the other networks would sorted out their retentions.
They all know they have poor retentions, except 02It just takes a long time to bring change to a large organisations that traditionally don't care about retaining customers but gaining new ones.

T-mobile are changing their DSR period from 14days to 7days. Just to make anyone aware who are buying online/phone etc.

Hi
Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on this - I am just coming to the end of an 18month contract with T Mobile - I was originally on a FleXT £35 a month for £180 worth but changed around 6 months ago to £25 for £60 worth, discounted with a go direct discount to £20. I got an N95 for £50 at the time in with the deal and am MORE than happy with the phone.
Thing is, There's a few family medical issues and stuff at the mo which means I'll prob be exceeding my allowance until the New Year at least
Seeing as I'm nearly out of contract (08/10/2008)and have no need for a new phone, any ideas? (I'm also more than happy with Tmobile customer Service so far)
I am willing to pay a little more line rental if necessary0 -
dont renew your contract, but if your in the last month of your contract you can move to solo 20 for £20 and get 600mins unlimited sms, and you wont be signed into a contract, so when your ready to upgrade, just call them whenever. Only thing is, if you change off your current priceplan you can't go back to it as T-mobile don't do a flext contract under £30 now, but I'm sure they'll find something else more suited for you

i called t-mobile retentions today.
As i use hardly any minutes or texts and use my phone mainly for internet they offered me combi 15 (100 mins,100 texts) with Web n Walk for £10 a month, no new handset.
or i could get the Vario 3 (HTC Kaiser) for £150 on combi 15 w/ WnW for £20 pm. As i don't think the kaiser is significantly different from my current handset i don't think i'll be taking this deal.
i will consider the £10/month tho.
He said even tho it is an 18 month contract, if during that time i wich to get a new handset i could take out a new 18 month contract to get a new handset (i'd lose my discount)... anyone heard of that before? The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits0
