I called tmob in june as i was coming to end of my contract and they said they could offer me flext 25 for £22.50 (as this was their web price I had seen already) and my £10 discount but no phone.

I called last Mon(last day of my contract) and was offered a choice of 3 phones. The lady said she would call me back....did she?! NO! She didnt even leave notes on the system!

So when I called back (first time was on hold for 30 mins before I hung up!) for second time I was told flext 25 was no longer available but flext 30 was for £25 (web price) but I would get no loyalty discount or phone!

So I raised a complaint and emailed their customer relations last friday (after waiting 2 days for a call back that never came) and someone called me today. Only to tell me the same thing! So I asked to speak to her manager. He just called me and offered me a flext 30 plan for £15 but with no phone.

I'm not sure whether to accept. He has given me 10 days to decide...but are there better contracts available??

that actually sounds like a v.good deal; typically they'll offer £10 off line rental but here you're getting £10 off a *new customer* rental price that is only available with some phones.

Called phones4u and carephone warehouse to see if any other network can offer something similar but no joy! Looked at tmobile's website and they are offering flext 30 and 35 at £25 so im going to be cheeky and see if i can get the 35 for £15. Am i just being greedy now? ;(

Ah sorry misread your post... I thought that was what they'd offered you. Still not a bad deal. If they say no angle for freebies such as web access, a text allowance on top of your flext, international option, etc.

  • I am just about to start the negotiation process and wondered if any of you had any tips to offer?

Currently am on the flex25 package and paying £25 per month but am looking to reduce that cost and gain additional minutes and texts whilst picking up a pretty decent new phone.

Is it better to go in with an offer you have seen elsewhere and ask them to match it? Any advice would be appreciated and I will let you know how it goes.

they'll often give a tenner off at renewal OR a new phone, but generally not both unless you really fight for it (i.e. disconnections) and have a chunky spend.

My Contract ends in September, a while yes i know! But i get excited at the thought of a new phone :D
Anyway, i was soooo hoping i would get a good deal through loyalty but after reading this, i guess not!
I use the T-mobile Mobile Broadband aswell, do you think if a threw that into the works when i phoned up i would get a better deal?
Or would it make no difference?

    Hi

I just rung T-Mobile to state that I wanted to leave etc...

This is what the person came up with for special retention rates for loyal customers who wanted line rental only and no new phone:
    £15 a month: 150 mins and 150 SMS
    £20 a month: 300 mins and 200 SMS.

So I said, O2' simplicity, which is also SIM card only and no new phone offers:
    £15 a month: 200 mins and 400 SMS (unlimited O2 to O2 calls)
    £20 a month: 400 mins and 1000 SMS (unlimited O2 to O2 calls).

T-Mobile's response was: 'Well that's what we offer and sometimes other companies offer better deals than us.'

Not really much of a retention deal from T-Mobile is it?!

Did you actually ask for a PAC? Different rules with the retentions team... and you can negotiate a little

I asked for a PAC and they said it would cost me money to get it now, as it's two weeks before my contract ends.
