  • I'm in month 17 of an 18 month Flext 25 contract. Through a series of lucky mishaps last time I negotiated, I'm only paying £8.50 a month.

I'm pretty sure that they're not going to give me a line rental reduction this time. Although I'm very happy with the current price-plan I would like a decent phone. Which phones do you think I might be offered? Also - bearing in mind my low cost price-plan, how much negotiating power will I have over the upgrading these offered phones?

Please excuse my ignorance but how does Web n Walk work? If I'd like it, how would I ask for it?

    Many thanks in advance...
  • web n walk is basically an internet package. the basic handset option is 7.50 a month and for that you get upto 1gb download limit, there are other larger packages for the handsets but theyre only worth getting if u plan on using your handset as a modem for a laptop etc. just ask upgrades for a web n walk option adding (sometimes you can get 1month free trial of it so you can try before you buy)

If you go for an upgraded phone, you will almost certainly lose most if not all loyalty discounts they are giving, so at that discount level, unless they cancel it, I would buy an off-line phone every 2 years.

Regarding PAC above, wait until you are able to get the PAC and then you'll have negotiating power.

  • Thanks for your answers on my above question. Just one more though...

In your collective experiences, will my current price plan of £7.50 per month for Flext 25 automatically continue when my contract is renewed if I decide not to change things or will it revert back to full price?
  • if it is a loyalty discount (not a go direct discount which are for life) then you automatically lose it the day after you are out of your commitment period.

Anyone give me any advice please!?!?

I'm in the last month of my Flext 25 contrat which I pay 17.50 for (25% off as it was a renewal).

However, my average bill has been over £40 a month since I've had this contract.

I want an expensive phone (N95 or Tocco) so I can sell it on ebay. Will I get one free and keep the same deal (maybe even improve it!?).

    Thanks,
    Jack.

    Hi

I just rung T-Mobile to state that I wanted to leave etc...

This is what the person came up with for special retention rates for loyal customers who wanted line rental only and no new phone:
    £15 a month: 150 mins and 150 SMS
(..) Not really much of a retention deal from T-Mobile is it?!
That deal sounds even worse when you realise T-mobile themselves now offer 350 minutes and 650 texts as "no phone" Solo 15.

    bounce!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Has anyone had a positive experience with T-mobile retention lately? My contract is about to expire. I really don't want to bother with another cashback deal, but my current T-mobile deal is too expensive without one.

I rang T-mobile for my PAC code as contract was up yesterday. They offered me £5/month for 100 mins & 100 txts, or £10/month for 200 with no new phone - I also lose the 500 free txts I have had for the last 3/4 years because they have moved the goal posts (again!) I can get a better deal with virgin £10/month with no phone, and no tie in because I have their tv etc... Not impressed with T-mobile lately at all - have been with them for 12 years - time to move....
