Not sure if this is the correct place to post but here goes...

Got a T mobile sim only contract 3 months back but i now have the opportunity to go back to contract and get a new handset. I don't particulary want a 24mth contract as i would like a new phone in that 2 year period...

So i was offered the Desire S, 300 mins, 300 texts, unlimited landlines and free internet for £25 a month on an 24mth contract or i could pay an extra £5 and have an 18 month contract....This was in store...

Unfortuantely as it's considered an upgrade i can't use sites such as mobiles.co.uk unless i want a new number which i don't really....

Has anyone else manged to get a similar deal as the one above but on an 18mth contract without having to pay an extra £5 per month for the privilege?

Update: was on Flext 40. they couldn't do any discounts on Flext packages and I was looking to cut costs.

    So I've been offered this

Galaxy Ace or LG Optimus Black
    300 mins
    300 texts
    unlimited internet
Eur/aus booster (60 mins to Pakistan)
    £12pm on 24 mth contract

I haven't said yes but it looks good to me.

I will then use another specialist provider (lycamobile) for my international calls approx £5 pm

So will have halved my outgoings.

    UPDATE:

Rang up Retentions to take up deal after dedciding on LG Optimus Black. They said it's not available on that deal. If I want it, £15pm plus £10 for phone. I said I was offered it at the £12pm package. No, they can't do it. Argued with them for 30 mins about not sticking to their offer. They said made a mistake. I said check notes on account, Nothing mentioning Opt Black. I said check recording of conversation, Not recorded. Very convenient, I said. Basically, made to feel like a liar trying to pull a fast one. Not too keen to be a customer.

Be aware that T Mobile can change their minds about their offers. I didn't really feel any customer care. Felt a bit bullied by adviser and his supervisor.
  • I've got to be honest mate, when I first read your post #1133 and the bit that said "I haven't said yes but it looks good to me."

I thought to myself... why the hell haven't you accepted it if you thought it was a good deal... was going to post and say "I hope when you call back to take the deal they haven't conveniently forgotten about it" but thought that was too skeptical of me...

Taken the Galaxy Ace. Good deal but I still think that T Mobile could work on their customer service.

I'm after an HTC Desire (Desire S, preferably). I've been offered 600 minutes, 500 texts, Internet and another booster of my choice with a Desire for £25 a month for 24 months.

Is this any good or might a bit more prodding get me a Desire S.

I was offered a deal for the Desire S, it's posted above, less minutes and less texts though...;)

Tried going through retentions as i ideally wanted an 18mth contract but they couldn't offer me anything...He could see why i wanted to port my number out and go through a 3rd party site to get what i wanted...

I have been offered on t mobile an 18month contract with 900mins unlimited text 750mg with a free black iphone 16gb for £40 a month i think this is a good deal do you ?
  • hi,

have never dealt with a retentions department of any kind before, and was looking for some advice. my current plan is
    Combi 35(18 month)
    800 minutes
    500 texts(unlimted text booster used)
    internet plus booster(£4.25 momnth)
    Free G2(HTC Hero)
    £35 p/m

my contract expired in february, so have just been on the rolling contract, didnt even realise i was up for upgrade. In a dream world i would like the samsung galaxy sii, but on cheaper plan. if i got a ridiculous cheap contract, wouldnt be too bothered about what phone i got, as long as i can get internet access. what i want advice with is should i try go for the galaxy saying i can get a better deal elsewhere, or say i am going to look for a cheaper plan, or all guns blazing and go for both?

    any feedback would be welcome
  • after no joy myself I went thru buymobilephones.net and they managed to get me:

    HTC SEnsation (YAYNess)

on a 2 yr contract, 600 minutes, 500 txts, unlimited data and unlimited landline booster for £30pm

Which I'm more than chuffed at, no way where Tmob going to entertain this with me at all, in fact they want £140 for an upgrade to HTC Desire S when I spoke with them, and i was bracing myself for £35pm on such a new handset as well
