This is making me hungry for pancakes! I haven't had any in quite some time, but they are such a delicious go-to - for any time of the day! I actually prefer the whole wheat pancakes though. They taste like they have more flavor to me. Does anyone else feel the same way?
  • Hi Folks

Does anybody know if I can make my pancakes now and then warm them up later? I have got the time to do them now, but will be rushed later!!

    Thanks in advance!

  • I usually use plain flour for my pancakes but have some 'strong flour' left over from breadmaking (decided that is too much hassle!) - do you think I could use it for my pancakes??

Probably, I'm using self raising flour as that is all I have.

  • Today we are having:
Breakfast; crepes with lemon and sugar
Lunch; American style pancakes with bacon, scrambled egg & maple syrup
Dinner; Duck pancakes followed by crepes with a variety of toppings

We will also be eating lots of fruit, vegetables and have had our porridge before our breakfast pancakes so a lot more balanced than it looks.

    Have a yummy day everyone.

Yep. You can even make a super huge batch and freeze some for another day...

    Our main thread is... pancake day 2012... 2011 ... 2010 ... 2009 ... 2008 ... 2007 ... 2006 so I'll add your query to it shortly.

I am using 4 oz strong flour, pinch salt, egg, 1/2 pint milk.

Topping lemon juice n sugar, maybe some jam too.

She says to toss a pancake - Hold the pan loosely in your hand , keeping your wrist very flexible. Flick sharply upwards. With practice it will twist in the air and come down in the pan with the cooked side uppermost!!!
