i think 100MB is enough if youre mostly going to be connected to wifi (eg, work, home)
Also depends what you use your phone for.

I will only access the internet on the phone if I am out and want to look up, for example, a restaurant on tastecard. I will not be using the phone at home, as I have box and a notebook, and won't use it in the office either.

I just thought it was time I upgraded to a half-decent phone. I fancied being able to access the internet, but equally, I did not want to pay a lot for this facilty. I thought the deal I was offered was pretty good, but just wanted confirmation.
  • Did you actually speak to retentions, or just the upgrade people? Those 'first line' upgrade people have nothing of good to offer - you need to speak to the big boys in retentions. They were a pushover, I just told them what I wanted and how much I wanted to spend.. with what free phone. I was hardly a high spend customer (£25 a month contract AND I got them to give me £120 off my last 18 month's bills)

Try again. If you don't get what you want, try once more. Then go and find a new firm that'll do what you want
good advice, you have to keep at them, its amazing what they will come up with to keep you on board

I had a 12 month £5 discount which ended last month, I was talking to them online and thye could come no where near it, offered me more minutes, but i dont use all the minutes I get at present! So a lot of use that would be to me!

Offered me phones where are already 2 years old (Galaxy Ace) on a 2 year contract. Then went to Lumix 6XX and then 800, eventually offered 12 month contract based upon free phone and effectively simplicity pricing (due to a loyality discount).

But stupid me hit the backspace key and ended up loosing the conversation history.

I'm gonna leave it a few days to see if they ring me

just had a chat with O2.

the deals they are offering me via the retentions team are the same as the upgrades shown on the o2 portal.

there were some incentives i.e. money off on some of the handsets to reduce the upfront cost, but they were all centred around 24 month deals.

best one was samsung s3, unlimited mins and text, 1gb data, 24 months, £26 per month.

with £238.50 for my iphone 4s as a trade in.

    going to mull it over

Upgrade due today, but O2 couldn't come close to Giffgaff or Tesco sim only, so they've lost me after 15 years and I'll be taking the rest of my family with me.

At least I'll now be able to upgrade the phone each year.
  • What is the cheapest sim only deal people paying here?

300 minutes for £10.50p/m, loyalty not rewarded, looking to move elsewhere.
  • I've been paying £5.50 a month for the last 12 months (£10.50 simplicity + £5 discount) which was due to end this month. Called this morning and was offered 24 months on simplicity £11.00 contract BUT with minutes upped to 250 a month, unlimited txts and 100mb data. Best of all I ALSO get £150 credited to my account so over 2 years I'm paying the equivalent of £4.75 a month!!! Fantastic! :money:

Anyone have any tips, have to renew next week and i'm on the old deal from easter where i got a HTC Desire S for free on the £10.50pm tariff.

Obviously they can't do it again but can they do anything at all?
