So many pages to read through, so ill just tag on the end..

Im well past my 18month contract. Im on an £35 per month online deal, the 600mins, 1000texts package which has expired.

I like 02, i have a nice number and always get a signal. I have a poor handset as my deal one broke out of the 12months warranty so a tesco cheapie it is.

What can i expect to get from staying with them, i rang up to cancel and the bloke kinda talked me out of it as i never knew what i was doing / looking for.

Need x-network mins, free landlines, free texts, maybe free data transfer for when im bored at work.

I range 08706 003009 and selected the "if you're thinking about leaving O2" option.

    I was offered for 18 months, £10/month:

    200 X-network anytime minutes,
    400 texts,
    Unlimited internet,
    Unlimited O2 - O2 calls,
    New Sony Ericsson 760i phone

    Happy :)

I got nothing whatsoever out of retentions today :(.

I'm on the £15 simplicity tariff and have been for 5 months now but I'm trying to get more texts for around the same price - using T-Mobile's £15 Solo tariff as comparison (350mins, 650txt)

The person I spoke to only offered me the tariffs I could get on the website anyway (£20 for 400 mins, 1000 txt) and nothing more. I asked about a 12 or 18 month contract without a handset and was offered £35 a month or £30 a month with £100 cashback for the 400 mins/1000 txt tariff - both working out more expensive than £20 simplicity on a 30 day rolling contract.

    :rolleyes::confused:

Decided to back down and try again next week - but starting to think I might end up with a PAC lol

    Hi,

Discovered this great forum while trying to look around for better ways to get an upgrade a week ago and so far ...

Well, managed to get through to retentions at O2. They are offering
    18 months contract
    600 minutes / 1000 texts
    Unlimited web or Free weekends
    Nokia N95 8GB
    £20.00 a month.

(Before this I was on the same minutes / texts for 12 Months and paying
    £40.00 a month. And no Bolt-Ons)

But the agent told me that Nokia N96 is about to be released in 6 weeks
so I should switch to simplicity for that period and when it is released I
should be able to get N96 instead of the N95 8GB.

Now thats a bit confusing ... should I go for it or stick with the N95.
    My contract ends 5 July.

What do you guys think ?

    Best Regards,

  • You could always just stay on your contract for the next few week without switching to simplicity, might even give you a bit more bargaining if you're over 12 months!!x

    Hi,

Well had a word with the retentions. It seemed a bit not so
re-assuring about the N96. The lady wasn't willing to guarantee that I'd
get the phone for free or not. She just somehow was a bit more eager to
put me on the Simplicity plan.

Hmmm ... wasn't too sure I should go ahead with it or not so good fellas
I went ahead and took the N95 offer.

    £20.00 a month.
    Online-35 with £15.00 discount.
    Nokia N95 8GB.

    Not too shabby after all.

But would surely like to know from you guys here if someone has
been to Simplicity from a contract and then been able to get back
to contract with a great deal. I read about one member getting
Samsung Soul 600 in a similar manner.

But how about the completely new models ? Do they do it ?

    Cheers,

    Hi guys.

I've been reading this thread and many people's cheap 02 deals with envy. :)

I'm currently on 02 Simplicity (£15 p/m, 200 mins, 400 texts) and wondered whether I could get a proper contract again, but knock the price down to maybe £10 p/m.

Would that be possible? Do I persuade them to give me cashback to knock the overall price of the contract length down? What sort of deals could I compare £10 p/m to?

    Thanks for your help. :)

call 202 and say what they can do for you. Before you call, have a look at http://www.phones4u.co.uk/special-offers/index.asp they are doing 11 month free on 12 month contracts - point O2 to this page if they ask where you have seen a better deal.

Before you call, decide if youre happy on 12 month or 18 month contract, and decide on which phone(s) you want.
