Use the dd guarantee. Your bank will immediately return the money to your account and sort it out with o2.

Yes I agree. Its your banks responsibility to refund you in the short term. Go and tell them that there has been a mistake on O2's part and you want your money back.

They must refund you and then sort it out with O2. Unless your bank is Santander, in which case you'll probably have died before they sort it out.

But i don't understand why you didn't do something before it came out. O2 send you an email 2 weeks before your direct debit to tell you how much is coming out of the bank.

I asked about iPhone 3GS deals and was told there weren't any. I was offered a HTC Desire for £149, £30 per month over 24 months, or a Palm Pre for free for £25 per month over 24 months.
    .

That's a terrible offer. They sell the Handset for 285 without a contract and they are asking you for 150 and a 2 year contract ?

I usually get a paper statement from O2, on this occasion I didn't receive an advice, email or otherwise. I was initially told that I would be refunded within 5 days so chose to leave it at that .... in hindsight I would have spoken to my bank. :o O2 admit that they have made errors and I think the fact that I wasn't sent an advice of any sort is yet another error on O2's part.
  • Hi I posted in another thread (not allowed to link as I am a new user apparently!) and was directed to this thread. After reading through some posts, I wonder if I got the same snappy woman at O2.

Currently I am paying £35pcm for
    *600 minutes
    *1000 texts
*Unlimited internet access (though connection has been a bit iffy lately)
    Plus £4.99 for their insurance.

My contract is up for renewal at the start of July so I thought I could haggle a better deal.

When I rang up, the call handler was very snappy. I asked if I could get a Blackberry Bold 9700. 3 are doing a similar deal to my contract above for £20pcm. I was told very bluntly they couldn't match that. I've been a customer with them for five years now and only had three handsets in that time (through choice more than anything else). I threatened to leave and was sent a PAC through a text. No attempt was made to offer me any other deals or phones.

It seems like O2 are not as keen to keep customers as they used to. I remember in previous years they were following over themselves to keep customers and offering fantastic deals in upgrades. Not anymore methinks.

That's what I think too :( SO and his friend called up to renew their iPhone contracts and O2 couldn't have been nicer to them.

exactly-they know the demnad for the iphone will outweigh smaller less significant deals so are willing to lose a few customers over it

    I'm tempted to state t-mobile?

If you go through quidco, get £80 cashback, pay £15 a month for 24 months. So 11.67 a month net.

Get an Internet phone such as Samsung Galaxy Portal, get free internet, 300 minutes, 300 texts. On top of this get a free add on, could be unlimited texts, free landliine calls, free calls t-mobile to t-mobile.

I think the current t-mobile deals beat what seems to be offered on O2 retentions, I'm up for renewal with o2, and by what everyone else has been offered it will be please can i have my PAC code.

We are on O2 broadband with a fiver off, but we have a second mobile with CPW O2 on 250 texts 250 minutes for a £5, which as I understand will continue forever. So I can use that instead.

Pity because I have been quite happy with O2 and previously always offered good deals....

    This looks better deal.

Rang up today and was put through to the "retentions" department. Now I'm on the 12 month simplicity tariff which gives me:
    *600 minutes
    *Unlimited texts
    *Unlimited data
for £20pcm. Think they were going to throw in a phone but I stupidly said I got a new phone in January (after previous one had an accident with a puddle). Although I can updgrade in nine months which is not bad :)

Be warned: picture messages and international texts will inccur an extra charge on this tariff. Not a problem for me because I don't really use them.
