  • Does anybody know a number to contact O2 retentions if you're not a direct O2 customer (I'm with carphone warehouse)?
I've tried 08706007102 / 08448470202 but when I put in my mobile no. it says contact Carphone warehouse.

08701117200 for o2 CPW. Not great offers and you have to jump through hoops to leave!
  • So I've got my PAC.....

Going to phone retentions one last time to see if they will budge before I port my number over later today.

    Doubt it though

Try retention and ask for a refurb iphone. You will get a 3GS phone for free - can negotiate the rental on a 16GB version but not on the 32GB. 18 month contracts and good sell on value in the future.

Just as good as BBB 9700 for email (for my use anyway) as can push automatically every few minutes and internet browsing is much, much better.

I've been with O2 for 7 years and my contact expired in December. My tariff is £25 for 200 mins only (very old tariff) and I pay £7.50 each for unlimited text and internet, so £40 per month. Usually go over on minutes so average bill is £50 to £80.

I wanted to upgrade to a Palm Pre in December but they wouldn't let me keep my unlimited texts - £7.50 per 500, and I had to go to 24 months, not 18 months.

When I said no, to keep my existing tariff I was offered either a Nokia 5800 (my current phone!!) or one of the cheaper blackberry’s.

So I took my pac code, but I didn't use it (it’s expired now) so just on a rolling contract now. Am I being reasonable to get something like a Palm Pre, or an iphone etc on my current tariff and 18 months by arguing, or should I change providers?

    Cheers,

    Phill.

Unfortunately the top phones seem to fall into the 35pm basic packages, im on £25pm with orange (21pm with loyalty) and i get unlimited texts and 200 anytime minutes on a 18th month. when i wanted to upgrade last time to a HTC touch diamond they said i would have to pay which i refused to do so i went to carphone warhouse and they upgraded me to it for free
  • I have a Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition on o2. 24 month contract, £30 a month- 600 mins, 500 texts and unlimited web use.

    I have been offered 275min & 250sms
    No handset
    Internet Bolt on
    £150 credit
    £15per month
    18 month contract

    = 18x15=360-150=210/18= £11.66 per month

    How does this compare.
  • I would suggest reading the Cheapest Iphone Discussion thread as several people (myself included) have been able to get reconditioned iphones for free - though you have to wait for them to be in stock.

I have been with o2 for around 2 years 3months, the last 9 months on a simplicity month by month contract. You would have to go for an 18 mth contract at around £35 per month (might get it slightly cheaper with a 16 gb 3gs).

Reconditioned phones are the phones returned within the 14 day cooling off period and are basically as new, just not in an original box. They still have a 12 month warranty.

They may do something similar with a reconditioned Palm Pre if that's your preference.

You need to go to retentions to get these sort of deals.
