that's the contract i've been on .. £35 month for 18 months ... last year they agreed a £600 cashback ... leaving a net cost of under £4 a month !! ....
just called this week and extended another 18 months at £475 cashback ... works out about £8 a month nett. got it without any hassle .. just said " would like to extend contract but cashback deal very important .. what's the best deal ? "
Job done in 2 minutes flat.
No handsets involved...... nothing wrong with my Nokia 1112 that cost me £9 three years ago !!0 -
I was wondering if having o2 home broadband would be a bargaining tool for a decent discount. I asked this in another thread but got no answer of anyone so presumed it was a no. Did you say to o2 yourself that they would loose your broadband and line rental custom when you called?
Thanks.
i didnt mention it, i wasnt too bothered leaving o2 to be honest so didnt push it. have been having problems internet slowing down recently anyway and their tech support hasnt been much help.0 -

9700 (50 for the phone)
600mins
1000text
utld o2 to o2 calls
bb bolt-on
35 a month
18 month contract
and then this by retentions:
9700 (40 for the phone)
600mins
1000text
utld o2 to o2 calls
bb bolt-on
30 a month
24 month contract
Surely they can't be serious?
Going to Orange I think, just hope my PAC comes ASAP.
By the way I've been on Simplicity paying 20 a month for a year.
So I've got my PAC.....
Going to phone retentions one last time to see if they will budge before I port my number over later today.
Doubt it though0 -

If you have already had your PAC in hand for more than a week and they haven't called to offer you anything they are unlikely to be interested in retaining your custom any longer.
Hope service is better on your new network0 -
To be honest, after reading this thread I was really worried that I would end up with nothing to show for my loyalty.
I had been on a simplicity £30 per month or the past 12 months. I called over the past few weeks and had similar misfortune of getting a good deal.
Today I managed to get the deal similar to the virgin media deal with the HD2.
I got:
18 month contract
HD2
600 minutes (got an additional 200 minutes as a bolt on)
unlimited texts
unlimited internet
All for £27 per month. I had to pay £40 for the phone though.
The trick is to persist, politely and calmly. The most important thing is to build some rapport with them and tell them that virgin are offering better deals as a T mobile. Appeal to them that they are not offering good deals in comparison but you would prefer the service level they offer.
Happy hunting!0 -

I've not had my PAC a week yet. Though to be honest I think I'm just going to stick with O2, reason being I want to use the 9700 with another Simplicity sim I have which has a BB bolt-on and if I go to another network for the 9700 it'll be branded and probably have network custom software on it.
The only other problem I have is that as I'm using the 9700 with my other sim, I want/need a normal web bolt-on on the blackberry upgrade contract. Now whether O2 will allow me to have that is another story....0 -

Seems very tough to get0 -
Can anyone help me, i'm currently in contract with o2 but i want to upgrade to an iphone early, they said no problem but i would not get the same deals as most people are getting on the refurb iphone 3gs. Retentions wouldn't give me the free phone on the £28 pm tarriff as most people where getting on the forum.
try phoning again and say i want to play up my last 2 months line retal and as for my pac code. ??0 -

I would wait until the last month of the contract, then try again0 -
No joy for me, but then im on one of the lower simplicity deals currently. Looking for a new phone (probably w995) for £25 with 200+ mins and text with internet. T-mobile can do it, but not 02 apparently. 'Best' they could offer me was 75 mins 250 txts and internet for £27.50. When id finished laughing i politely declined the 'offer'.
I think that the likes of o2 are not really going to be interested in your continued custom unless you have already been spending ~£30 month. Ill be off to T-mobile then.....0
