You can buy in contract replacement handsets.
Although, HD2 isn't that price anymore as it's now gone up since then..0 -
Slightly off topic, but just wondering if any customers from other providers have successfully moved to o2 recently after being offered similar iphone deals to these retention deals (i.e. £28-£31/month...free phone etc)?
If so, which number did you call and what deals were you offered?

hey guys, i'm in a funny situation here.
online, my account details says that my next contract renewal date is April 2010.
So I called up to see what deals I could possibily get with the HTC HD2.
First thing they tell me is that my contract doesnt end till September 2010. (which is true since I got an 18 month contract)
So I asked the CS who's right and she replied the info on her computer. (so I really should upgrade till september 2010)
But suggested I try my luck and try upgrade online if I really wanted to get the HD2.
Question is, should I try try to upgrade come March? or could that possibily mess things up (e.g. I end up with two contracts)
Many thanks in advance.

I just phoned up to see what deals I could get as my phone is due for a upgrade monday 8thFeb and they said they couldn't tell me about any upgrade options until monday as that's when my contract finishes. Has anyone else found this? I though you could upgrade a month before your contract finishes on o2?0

02 couldnt match (anywhere near infact) the deal from virgin for a HD2..
so i went for the iphone 3Gs refurb, got it free on 24 months £31 600 mins unlimited text and web. not bad i dont think.
only thing is it turned up today and was only the 3G version.. so i phone upgrades, they say they dont do the 3gs on a refurb! we all know thats rubbish! eventually i get them to put me through to retentions. the lady was very nice indeed and said it had been a genuine mistake (admittedly thats easy done) now they are sending someone to doorstep swap the phone tommorrow.
i just thought i would bring this up as obviously for someone whos not too tech savvy its easy to mistake the 2 phones as they look identical. check the paperwork and look for the video camera!0 -
Just rang o2 up as a vodafone customer....they're also unable to do anything on the i-phone contracts for new customers other than whats on the website... The refurb handsets/discounted rates are only made available to current o2 upgrading customers
Looks like Tesco is definitely the best deal out there for people wishing to change networks to get the iphone.October Comp Wins -Stella Artois Challice (FB)0 -
Coming to the end of my contract in the next few weeks. I've been with O2 for well over 5 years now and am currently on their online 35 contract which comes with
600 mins
1000 texts and unlimited internet
Now I bought myself a Pay as you go Iphone 3Gs for christmas so am now looking for a decent SIM only tariff. I am tempted by the Simplicity £20 plan with 600 mins, 1200 texts and unlimited internet
But Vodafone have 1,200 mins, unlim text, unlim landline and 500MB internet for £25 a month for 12 months. Plus quidco are throwing in £120 cashback
Do I have any chance that O2 will price match vodafone's SIM only plan? Even if its a match of the minutes?0 -
just into final month of contract, on online 35 with £15 discount.
Got a HTC Touch last time free too, this time i just wanted sim only deal but they wouldnt give me any discount at all, both upgrades and retentions offered nothing but what was on the website.
Have just ordered a 18-month free deal with buymobilephones.net on t-mob and will port number across.
o2 will lose my broadband in may as no point in keeping it now, will go to sky, and was also going to switch to o2 line rental but that will go to sky as well.0 -
