Are the same kind of retentions offers available for customers on simplicity does anyone know/ have any experience of this?__________________________________
July 2014 Grocery Challenge £162/ £200
July 2014 £10 a day challenge - £134.610 -
I am on Simplicity now but I haven't tried going for any retention deals yet, mainly because I have yet to find a phone that would make me feel like using it and not being able to change it for 18/24 months....
I do believe though that Simplicity customers are treated as people with the standard tariff with the same amount of minutes/texts (ie Simplicity 20 corresponds to O2 600)0 -

I just asked about if any of my friends would be allowed to have the same (retentions) deal that I was just signing up for.
And she said the only people qualified are those who have an account with CPW before August 2007, PAYG doesn't count.
If you're on the 12 months simplicity then I would have thought you'd be allowed, worth trying.0 -
I've just called up again.
Either last time I wasn't through to retentions, or, better deals are available at the end of the month...much better.
I've just got
18 month contract: Sim only
200 minutes
400 texts
Free internet
£24.48 /month
£400 guaranteed cashback via redemption on month 6/12/18
Works out at £40.64 in total
£2.25 per month
Quite happy with that!0 -
Has o2 started doing cashback deals or was it with the cpw?0

bobtastic !!! what a deal... ( do you overspend your allwance .. can't see any commercial reason to offer you that much cashback.. but hey good going)
I'm on monthly simplicity with o2 direct ... would not offer me a bean, so had to call their bluff and got a PAC codeAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -

I didn't get anything when I called them.0 -
I am absolutely fuming with O2!!!!
I'm with O2 and have been on contract with them for 3 years and on Pay As You Go before that since the days when it was BT Cellnet (since about 1997). I have never had a phone with another network so you could call me a very loyal customer.
Over the last 3 years I paid over £2100 to O2, chiefly because my contracts turned out to be the wrong ones for me and I was paying for extras. On my latest contract I wasn't even using my 'free' minutes or texts but I was accessing the Internet which increased my bills by around £15 per month on top of the £35 I was already paying for the contract.
I was phoned sometime last year by O2 about their priority list (turns out I'm a Gold customer) and was told that I would be contacted when it was time to upgrade. I never received a call and, as I had just started a job as a Newly Qualified Teacher, I was snowed under with work (I realise you might disagree with that!) and didn't have time to check when my renewal date was.
I have had to contact O2 recently regarding my latest bill for £209.92 (this includes exorbitant roaming charges for Turkey - but that's another story) and finally got my password to get onto my account on the website. It turns out my renewal date was October 08 and I could have upgraded in July. Since August last year I have paid £752.68 instead of £240 if I had upgraded to the best tariff for me. Alternatively, I could have received up to £150 if I didn't want to change my handset. I don't particularly want to change my handset - I don't need an iphone or Blackberry - and I'm quite happy with the one I have.
I have been on to the cancellations department 3 times this week and they can't offer me anything for having been a loyal customer who has paid them quite a lot of money - not even 3 months free line rental. They say it was my responsibility to upgrade at the correct time. Perhaps it was, but when I was told that they would contact me and it says on the website (this is the link to the Silver page but surely the same applies to Gold customers)
http://www.o2blueroom.co.uk/O2PriorityList/Silver/Benifits.aspx?sec=home&area=silver
I feel that they have not honoured what they say.
I have reluctantly cancelled (reluctantly because most of my calls are to O2 customers - though they might not be for much longer as they are not happy at the response Ihave received from O2).
I realise you can't do anything but I am really annoyed and frustrated that my loyalty counts for nothing. I am considering contacting the CEO as suggested in an earlier post. Is it still Matthew Key or is it Ronan Dunne now?
Just needed to get it off my chest.0 -
I have also been with O2 for a long time. I managed to get a good retention deal just before they stopped doing them. I have just contacted them as I was after another phone for my hubby, they weren't interested.
I just phoned Vodafone and got a cracking deal and was not even an existing customer. See my post http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=18489050
