I phoned them this week to request my PAC - told them I wanted to transfer my number to a PAYG sim I already have, and did not say anything else. There was no discussion at all, just "OK no problem we'll text you your PAC today". I thought they'd at least try to keep me on a contract of some sort
When I phoned yesterday I initially asked for my PAC code. I was then asking if there was any particular reason for asking for it, so I said I wanted to lower my monthly costs. Then you can start the discussions as to what offers they will make you or not in the case of most people these days.
When they offered me the W995 for minimum £35, I said I could get it for alot less else where and the guy just said sorry, so I asked for my PAC code again, and he said no problem he would request it straight away for me.
It's not much of a retentions department if they can't make any offers.0 -
My upgrade is due and they called me, thought I would check on here first to see what everyone thought and what deals are currently on offer.
I currently have a blackberry and would like to upgrade to the bold or curve, currently with O2 on £35 per month not quite sure what that entails re text minutes..
What should I ask for? what are they currently giving away?

When I phoned last week, the lady on the phone said the cheapest deal they would offer with the Blackberry Curve would be £45pm. So I moved to orange and got a nice deal on £30pm.0 -
I think that they are consolidating their position within the mobile market and are chasing the high end users and businesses.
I think this is exactly right. In March last year I got a really great retentions deal. It is due to expire in six weeks and I have never paid more than the monthly fee because of the number of free texts and minutes I get.
Except for last month, when it went from £15 a month to £45. I looked at my bill, but I was within my allowance. I called them and they said that I had been incorrectly receiving a discount. I had to make several calls and chuck a mental before they agreed that it was a part of my contract and they would re-instate it.
It sounds very much like they are trying to cut out accounts that aren't making them enough profit.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off
1% over payments on cc 3.5/100 (March 2014)0 -
The curve or bold isn't being discounted (was thinking about you the other day $17mma).
The £15 discount isn't given anymore, I think its £10 over £45 and £5 over £35.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
Guys,
When you get your PAC you are still in the contract and liable for paying them for the following 30 days ???0 -
I think that if you use the PAC when you're no longer in your minimum term you just pay for the line rental up to the day the number gets transferred.0

The reply to my first email query was a load of nonsense, claiming that I'd agreed a discount in December 2007 which had just ended. No, there was no agreement then, and this contract started last July and was supposed to have 18 months discount.
£25 has been added back to my account and the £15 discount "extended" to when it's supposed to reach, but I'll be keeping a close eye on it.0 -
Does anyone know whether O2 UK will be stocking the N97? I've heard so many different reports saying yes and no. Has anyone got one yet? Have O2 commented at all on the situation?0
