Ridiculous... having been offered 1200 mins, 1000 texts and free web bolt on with a Blackberry for £30 a month 10 days ago, I spoke to retentions today. Best they can now do is 600 mins, 1000 texts and free Blackberry for £35 a month. Or if I keep my phone, they'll give me the tariff with 600 mins for £30 a month, with £125 credit (18 month contract). Does anybody else think this is a joke?! (By the way, have provisionally gone for the Simplicity tariff which is far better value!)

Maybe it's supply and demand with them having a surplus to get shot of. The moral of this story is if it seems like a good deal snap it up fast.

I'm not affected as I did my deal 5 weeks ago and am more than happy with the Blackberry Bold I got - does anyone else think that the deals now being quoted for various phones don't seem as good as they ere a month back ?

They could do better see what I got, been with 02 10 years but only 5-6 on this contract. I was on same tariff as you but with free web also on 12 mths not 18 for £20. They offered me 200 mins, 400 texts, free 02 calls for £10 mth over 18 mths. Said I wanted my pac code and their win back team called me back, offered me £150 cashback or top spec phone, same offer for the £10 but with free web too!

I got the same offer but no web :(

My manager at work got offered free line rental by 02 retentions with 75minutes and 100 texts because he has been using so many international calls lately. Unbelievable!

I think another thing to do as well is if you're offered something good but you want to push for more, make sure the initial offer if recorded by o2 and get them to confirm that it will be honored for up to 7 days.

Incidentally I'm now having a bloody nightmare with o2 again because they can't get my address right. You'd think someone would realise something was up if a street name and house number were missing. *bangs head on wall*

o2 say the calls recorded and that theyll make notes on your account then when you rink back there are NO notes and funnily enough not all calls are recorded and you call happens to be one that wasnt!
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.

Got a letter through from O2 saying I am entitled to an upgrade now, even though my contract doesn't run out until end of September 09. I am currently on O2 35 with 600 Minutes 500 Texts & Unlimited Mobile Data.

Now I was interested in the rumoured new iPhone, that doesn't exist and won't exist to quote O2. So I called them to see. They have offered me either:

    £150 Credit to my account.

    £155.61 for the iPhone 3G 16GB on 18Mth £35
    £57.74 for the iPhone 3G 16GB on 24Mth £35

Or switch to Simplicity 1 month contract now on the £19.58/Month tariff with 600 minutes, 1200 texts and unlimited Web.

Debating just switching to Simplicity and saving £15/Mth and when/if the new iPhone launches just move from Simplicity to a new iPhone tariff.

What's the thoughts will I be able to do that, or should I hold fire?

To update I went for the Simplicity Tariff in the end, monthly rolling contract £19.58/Month, 600 minutes, 1200 texts and unlimited Web.

Had the confirmation letter from O2 and online my Contract renewal date has changed from September 09 to 27th June 09. So now have no contract so to speak, same tariff as previous with double the texts and a £15/Month saving.

So in effect got out of my 18 Month contract 4 months early. Was debating where the catch was?
    Cheers

Just been offered the Simplicity tariff.,......14.69 per month - 300 mins / 600 texts no mention of Web.....

The 30 quid per month tariffs have had discounting removed for the time being (possibly a month - possibly 2 months).....

Am thinking about the pros and cons - take the Simplicity then call up to move back onto a new tariff.....
What should I put in here that won't upset people.........
  • I must have phoned up at least 5 times today & everytime i was given the same speech: ever since the 1st of june we cannot give out best deals anymore etc etc, anyway I got:

    Blackberry Curve 8900 free
    1200 mins anytime any network
    1000 texts
    Unlimited Internet
Free bolt-on of 200 mins each month added (so getting 1400 mins)
    Motorola headset thrown in
    18 month contract
    £35 p/month

I tell you something I can usually blag anything but this very very hard, all the operators were having none of it whatsoever.

    Anyway I'm happy.:j
