  • You'll not get something less than £10 with a free phone unless you risk accepting a cashback offer with an out of date phone! The offer you were quoted was very good if there was a free phone with it!

  • Dear All, I specifically wanted a free Blackberry bold, with unlimited blackberry use, about 600 minutes and unlimited texts. I have been with BT Genie and then 02 for about seven years-but only as a sim contract. I used this site to find a deal on T mobile and then was perfectly honest with retentions - not upgrades-who only matched the sales site.
The staff member gave me a 40% tariff discount, 1200 minutes, a free blackberry bold and free house broadband for twelve months. I had commented how much trouble I had been having on my virgin broadband. This gives me a blackberry bold, on an eighteen month contract for £27 a month and includes home broadband.
I hope you find this useful in extractiing a deal with your mobile provider. I have used the other networks while on my 02 contract and always kept my BT genie contract going. I now use one contract, only use my house phone on weekends and have saved on my home broadband. The site has helped me and hope my experience helps others!

Right, here goes nothing....I'm going to attempt to upgrade my phone and reduce my tariff at the same time. I've read through some of this thread...but I'm so rubbish at pushing these things.

My phone was up for renewal in September I think. At the time the phone was doing fine and so I just went onto one of the simplicy offers for £20 (400 mins and 1000 texts). I did ask to get my insurance taken off but they never did...do you think I could use this as some sort of leverage?? Probably not.....

I now need a new phone as mine has taken a bit of a hammering. I guess just getting the insurance taken off saves me £5 per week anyway....

I'm also clueless about the upto date phones as I haven't been specifically looking. I do use mine for texting more than anything (although I do use a good proportion of my free mins each month too).

getting the insurance off isnt as difficult as you make it. i always cancel it straight after receiving my new phone and contract.

call and keep insisiting you want it cancelled and be really polite. they'll give up after a few minutes. then ask them to post you a letter to confirm this.

call after a few days to the hotline again to confirm its cancelled and you'll be fine :D

    Thanks toothpick....it's all sorted.

I got probably not as amazing a deal as some on here but I am a low volume customer.

    Samsung G600
    400 mins
    1000 texts
O2 to O2 free calls bolt on
    £20 cash back
Refund of unused portion of sim only bill
    £15 per month.

Much happier with that. A saving of £10 per month for me and a new phone. Yey.

Got the deal thru the retentions team the blackberry bold was classed as a refurbished handset but when I received it it was as new.
  • Gah, spoke to retentions today.
I told them i was gonna switch to vodafone, they said they'd give me the 600 mins, 1000 texts and unlimited internet for £20 p/m (with the 6800) only if i pay £30 for a PAYG mobile broadband dongle.

Anything i have to say to get it without the dongle?
Just to update you guys, i got it without the dongle :j

    Cheers guys
