didnt need to haggle gave me it as soon as i asked for it
as i told her i wanted this deal that everybody online got
Yea that seems to be pretty much the standard deal that everybody seems to be able to get no problem. I don't know if it is possible to get any more? I didn't try cause it's a big enough saving on what I was previously paying!Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -

I stupidly never read any of Martin's tips before I went headlong into an upgrade a week ago.
I am currently on a online 25 tariff 200 mins and 400 texts. I use less than 100 mins a month but at least 500+ texts. I really want the Samsung Pixon, don't know why I just like the look of it!! ( I hate my Nokia - it was a replacement for a K850i that was useless!!)
I went into an O2 store while away last weekend killing time before my flight home and was informed I was able to have the phone for free on my current tariff. However I was unable to carry the phone as I was on a flight and my case was full so decided to call O2 when I got home. I was told I could only get the phone if I upgraded my tariff to online35 600 mins and 1000 texts. I stupidly accepted this
After thinking about it (6hours later!) I realising what a stupid idiot I had been I called retentions and explained what I had done. The lovely lady told me I was unable to cancel the order but to refuse delivery or if it was accepted to send it straight back and then call back retentions next week. I wasn't in to intercept delivery and it was accepted - although sent back when I got it.
She has put a note on my file stating an offer of 18 month contract of 600 mins unlimited texts for £30 per month 10 months 1/2 price line rental and £150 credited to my account. NO new phone. However I have been researching on this site and other sites and I can get the phone and £15per month - 100 mins and unlimited texts costing about £50 more than the deal they are offering me although it is a 24 month contract so technically its cheaper!! I'm hoping to haggle down to this tariff. I have never done this before so I'm hoping they will agree to it if not I can get the same deal with orange.
Sorry for the long post.0 -
Finally agreed my o2 upgrade thru retentions got the following:
18 month contract
400 mins
2000 text
unlimited o2-o2 calls
unlimited web bolt on
Home broadband free for 12 months then £2.50 a month
Refurbished blackberry Bold 9000
For £15 a month
Is this a good deal or could I have done better?0 -
Is there anyone who has had a retention upgrade from a Simplicity contract ? My last O2 phone contract ended 12 months ago since then I've been on Simplicity - currently a 30 day notice online deal 600 minutes, 500 texts unlimited O2 to O2 paying £19.57. I also get free home broadband which they told me in Feb (its one years anniversary) I would continue to get as long as I had a contract with them.
The minutes, texts and unlimited o2's are fine for me but I fancy a new phone and knowing I'd have to commit to 18 months wonder what I could expect for the same kind of monthly outlay - I'd also like unlimited web/email.0 -
Just spent 10 mins trying to get through to o2 upgrade/retentions. Everytime it has beeped and said the line is busy
I've tried 2 numbers, does this happen a lot or am I just unlucky  (typical, in my lunch break and I've just broken my current phone :rotfl:)0 -
Quick question if someone wouldn't mind helping....
If I am an O2 customer and take their broadband at "O2 customer rates"... what happens if I then leave my O2 mobile contract? Will my prices go up or stay the same for the term of the contract with the broadband?
Cheers0 -

The broadband is a 12 month contract u cant leave before that if ur mobile contract runs out and u decide to leave the broadband price goes upto full price unless u link another o2 number onto it like on a PAYG sim.0 -
I'm coming to the of my 18 month £35/month deal with O2 and would like an iPhone, has anyone managed to get any decent deals from retentions?
ThanksAddicted to moneysaving! :rotfl:0 -
Hi
Iv got 2 contracts with 02 had them for approx 2 and half yrs - one for me and my partner has the other one.
I just upgraded his contract from online 35 and got
C905 20 per month for 400 mins 1000 txts and unlimited 02 - 02 calls, he rarely uses over 200 mins so am happy with that.
I upgraded in sep last year and unfortunatley hadnt seen this site or i would have negotiated a better deal. I have the online 35 on my contract but regularly go over it with data charges, do you think i will be able to negotiate a deal for a web bolt on mid point of contract as i spend approx £75 - 80 per month between the 2 contracts??
Thanks0
