Called up today asking for a Nokia 6300 on O2 30 (200xnet and 400 txt)Free O2 Calls £10 line rental and £100 credit, first girl offered £75 credit but £15 a month, I declined and called back. Second girl was much more accomodating and give me £10 line rental and £75 credit. Total over 18 months = £105 which works out at £5.83 per month average!

I just got offered a contract without a phone, £15/month for 18 months.
£180 credit on bill, 600minutes 1000 texts, free o2 calls. Any good or can i do better? I really only call/text o2 customers, so the o2 unlimited tariff on pay as you go would'nt be bad for me. (except the 25p minimum call charge for everything else!)

    Hi all,

I thought I would share this with everyone here incase noone has come accross this offer. If anyone else has been offered simmilar I would appreciate your comments :)

I called O2 today to cancel my contract and after a 10 minute discussion of deals the guy eventually gave me an interesting deal... Free service for a year:

I have been offered a contract for 12 months which I think he stated was £15 per month and for this you get 100 Minutes and 100 texts per months but because I am a existing customer I got offered this for £5 per month I informed the guy that I was stil in no way interested (I was'nt that interested to be honest although it is a good deal) he put me on hold for 2 minutes and came back and said that they could offer me a £100 credit in my account so that would make my offer like the following:

£5/month - 100 mins+texts BUT with my o2 account being credited with £100 which means it woud cost me £60 for the year and I would have £40 for any overspending of my allowance !

I tried to get a free phone thrown in too :rotfl: but I could'nt get that so I am running the risk of having to buy a new phone before the 12 months is up but this is still an exceptional offer...

Has anyone got anything simmilar ? Is your contract coming time to renew because if you don't need a new phone I would push for an offer like this!

Sorry for the rambling post and I hope theres no spelling mistake sbut I can't get the spellcheck to work!

    thanks for reading :)

Just to update after this agreement I found that I was being charged for sending a text message so I called billing enquiries today and they said that the package I was on did not include Minutes and texts (its one or the other) So I said that I was not interested so he then rambled on about other packages I could go onto at the normal upgrade rates So I hung up and called the retention line...

I have found that if you begin with the line "I am calling to cancel my contract" they immediately fold and offer you whatever (within reason) So they upgraded my account with 200 texts per month for the year.

So this is what my package is at now:

    £100 Credit
    100 Minutes
    200 Texts
    £5/month

    O2 Treats (next 3 months)
    20 Minutes xnet anytime
    30 minutes xnet off peak

And I'll be left with the £40 in credit at the end of the year if I don't exceed this which I am going to try and do !

Am watching this thread with interest as I am coming to the end of my 12 month contract. I have just had 400 mins and 500 texts for £25 and am wondering if I can get a better deal

I got my last contract (through retentions) in July/August '06, can't remember exactly. I got 250mins and 100txt for £30 per month but with a £15 per month discount for the first 12 months. However, I'm still getting the £15 discount per month
I'm getting to the point where I'd quite like a new phone but if I phone up do you think they'll realise I've been getting a better deal than I should have for the last 8 months and give me a not so good retentions deal?

    Hi All,

I'm about to renew my contract with O2 or possibly leave.

I really do want to move onto an 8800 arte. however i can't find any good deals where the phone isn't ridiculously expensive.

Current spend on o2 is approx £150 per month due to using the phone for work.

but the best they can offer me is the phone for £250 on an 18 month £30 per month contract. adn that is with 15 pound of the contract price.

if i play abit hard ball with them will they reduce the handset or is it one of those pieces of kit that i might just have to pay for?

I have been on a 02 simplicity sim only deal for the past year. Rang them yesterday morning saying i cant afford the £25 a month and wish to cancel the contract. The guy offered me a 18month deal 200 mins 300 texts for free!! He said there was no catch and i could cancel my dd if i wish. Checked my online o2 account today it had been updated to the free deal. Not sure whether the guy was recovering from a hangover but im not complaining :D
