How long have you been with o2 and do you go over your normal contract rate each month? I believe they offer better deals to customers who have been with o2 for at least 2 or 3 years and who use more than their contracted minutes/texts each month.
I got the £20 per month deal recently because my average bill was around £70pm (contract was £30pm) and I had been with o2 for about 8 years.
Hi
Quite a few people vouch and say if you go over your allowance 3-4 months before your contract expires you get a better deal but im not too sure, This is my third year with O2
I just renewed with O2 two weeks ago (blackberry 600min/ web bolt.texts deal £20 Per Month), they offered me the broadband deal but im with virgin already
I was previously onthe 600 minute simplicity deal with them for £20 since last easter and they gave me the blackberry deal with out hesitation even though I use only half or less of my 600 minutes per month and thats at a push"One Man Can Make A difference" Michael Knight KNIGHTRIDER0 -

i'm currently on online35 12 months with 400 mins 500 txts.
No I had absolutely no success with the N96, wouldn't give it to me on anything less than the standard £45 a month tariff. Now they say I can't upgrade for another month because my contract doesn't run out till then. I thought you could upgrade a month early? Can anybody clarify if the full 18 months has to be up before they will offer a retentions deal?Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
Rang O2 to finally accept my deal - keep same contract, pay £20/month and get £150 credit, simple right? No way! "No you cannot have that deal on £20/mth" (despite the fact that it's been promised on each and every call), "you cannot have the £150 credit " ! Offered to me just a few days ago but the dude didn't write it down in his notes!!
What on earth is going on?
They're withdrawing deals left, right and centre!
I know it's only £50 but it's the lack of principle and honouring their word that gets me.
I'm seeking out a new deal avidly! My PAC is still valid and I will use it before it expires.Tough times never last longer than tough people.0 -
am extremely happy - just rang and got the following for myself and my wife:
free Nokia 5800
600 mins
1000 txt
unlimited internet
for £20 per month on an 18 month contract - we've been with O2 for 1 year and have had cashback deals for the last 6 years but this seemed a really good deal.Come on you Red and White Wizzaaaards!0 -
owitemisermusa, not sure if you have read the thread but this has happened to me before with O2. I do sympathise! I found it incredibly frustrating, particularly as the first person practicularly called me a liar. When I hanged up on him, I decided to phone again to complain if anything and thankfully I got a decent person on the end of the phone who listened to what I had to say and took steps to rectify and investigate the issue. Was finally proved right and got the original deal. That was at my last retention deal almost 2 years ago now.
If your original offer was was within 7 days (and you really want to pursue this deal) then ask to speak to a manager/supervisor and get them to listen to your previous conversations with the advisor who originally gave you the deal. If you are sure you were explicitly offered that then I think it should still be honoured.
My sister is also having a bit of a nightmare with O2 at the moment - maybe she has been unlucky and just got through to the unfriendly/rude bunch who won't budge an inch but she hasn't been getting the kind of service that we expect from O2 - and it just goes to show how highly we generally rate their customer service - when we get an 'off' person it really frustrates us - I walked from Tmobile for that kind of nonsense. I've also got a '3' contract so I know what good and bad mobile customer service looks like!0 -

Was that just within the last hour or so? Is the 5800 in stock then?0 -
Nokia 5800 is back in stock. Just called and was offered the following:
Free 5800
600mins
1000txt
Unlimited web
18months
£20 per month
Was also offered
Free 6220 or 6600 slide
200mins
400txt
Unltd O2-O2 calls
18month
£10 per month (or £15 with unlimited web)
or
200min
400 texts
Unltd O2-O2 calls
18months
£150 credit for not taking phone
£10 per month (or £15 per month with unltd web)
So effectively £1.67 per month without internet or £6.67 with internet
Pretty good deals. I'm very tempted by the 5800 but I'm trying to rein in costs a bit at the moment and I definitely don't need 600mins and 1000texts as I'm only a light user but this is the lowest tariff which this phone is available on.
Which other phones would people recommend for internet browsing?
I'm also loathed to pay £20 per month for the 5800 because I can get the iPhone for about £25 per month using my corporate discount.0
