Quick update, sold the BB 8900 for £260 cash today (thought it less risky than ebay auctios), so effectively £100 for 18 months for above package, £5.56/month so delighted:j
For info, BB was locked to o2...but didn't matter to the buyer.
Will ur unlimited web bolt on work with another phone though? as o2 have told me it only works with blackberrys?0 -
OK so i called retentions again, asking for my PAC and got offered the following:
Sim only (no phone)
600 mins
1000 texts
Unlimited 02 to 02 calls
£150 credit
£15 a month (would usually be £30 per month)
On an 18 month contract
This is much better than my current 200 mins/400 texts for £15 a month, but would mean signing up to an 18 month contract. I'm quite happy with my phone at the moment, but may want to change it in future - this deal would mean i couldn't upgrade for another 18 months. Would i be silly to accept this without a new phone or silly not to given it's free money??
Bex how many times did you have to call to get this offer and were you over your contract.
I phoned today and was told as I only use about 250 mins and 470 txts all they could offer me was the simplicity £20 a month contract...
I dont want that...
Would like summat like yours though... or will the only way I can get it is by asking for my PAC code.
Regards

Did you call retentions or upgrade? You need to sound genuinly interested in leaving, coming with a deal of another network will support you too. They don't just give discounts out without a valid reason though, as many people think they do on here.0 -

If you upgrade to a BB you can still choose to have web bolt on rather than the BB one. However if unlike me you are using the BB, take the BB bolt on.
Anyway £5.56 line rental with no cashback etc, still happy! Much better than taking the £150 credit imo!0 -
Blackberry bolt on works with all phones (they accidently put BB bolt on with my upgrade) to give web use. I have since changed it to web bolt on as I'm not using the BB. Web bolt on won't work on a BB though.

Don't also forget that without a BB bolt on, your BB won't be allowed to register on the BB server. So, you'd be limited to functionality such as the browser, emails etc. :beer:0 -
Just been back on the phone quoting an orange contract.
I was speaking to retentions this time.
Been told the best I can have is:-
600 mins
1000 txts
web bolt on
Price quoted was normally £35 as I said I wanted the web bolt on, they can reduce it by £15, which takes it to £20 and then with £150 credited to my account.
Not as good as Bex @ £15 a month and no unlimited o2 to o2 calls???
Comments????
Try again in a few days or accept??0 -
hi everyone, my hubbys contract is up in May so will o2 ring him bout renewing or do we have to ring them?0

They will quietly continue to take your money and offer nothing. The contract doesn't end, it just gets to the end of the initial, non-cancellable term.
you have to get out and push!0 -

Vodafone's website
£25 x 18 months = £450
£450 - £90 quidco = £360
£360/18 = £20 per month
600 mins, unlimited texts
free W715 (same as W705 but with GPS)
Seems as if I've gone as far as I can with O2
Phoned up again today. The first deal at £25 was 2000 texts (1000+1000 free). The second deal with the 600 mins and internet was actually a 24 month contract, with 18 months discounted to £25 but the other 6 months at £30!! (A fact they did not tell me last night!)
I said I'd think about it, and then called back just now for my PAC code. Quoted both Orange at £20 and Voda at £25 and he said "ok i'll process the PAC code request now etc...."
So think I'll take the Vodafone offer. Shame, liked being with O2 the last few years but the "retentions" offers just aren't competitive for me0 -
Thanks for all the information in here - invaluable in getting a good deal from 02. Have to say, they were great to deal with, and they do seem to take customer service a lot more seriously than any other network I've been with.
The deal was nothing special in most people's eyes, but for me (not exactly one of O2's most profitable customers!) it was fantastic:
24 month contract
200 minutes/400 texts
Free unlimited O2 to landline calls
£10pm
£150 immediate credit to cover the first 15 months
So: £3.75 pm net over the 24 months
So now I can happily forget about all the cashback hassle with e2save and CPW and relax for 2 years for less than £4 pm, which will easily cover all my calls and texts. Thanks again to all the posters.0
