Just called up now. Originally offered:
W705
400mins
2000txts (sure she said 2000?!)
Unltd O2 to O2
£25 18 months
I then mentioned unlimited internet bolt on, and she went away and came back with this:
W705
600mins
1000txts
Web Bolt On
£25 18 months
I have decided the W705 is definately what I want, I'll not be holding on for the 5800. However not sure what to do about the contract. Other people have had that deal for £20/month recently, if I could get that then great.
However if I could get the 400 minute £20 you got offered then I'd consider that..... i'm not actually sure I'd use Web Bolt on, or whether I'd just use it for the first month as a gimmick but then not really afterwards. What does everyone think??
I'm not sure that the woman said 2000 texts for the first offer since none of their tariffs say that. It looks exactly like what i got offered but for £5 more.
The 2nd offer is better, get 200 extra texts and web for same price?0 -
The 2000 texts thing could be possible - I have this:
600mins
2000 texts
unltd 02 calls
free 5800
£20 per month, 18 months.
Only prob is that the 5800 is faulty.0 -

Wow, that shows how O2 was chatting crap when i said cant you match the "unlimited text?" and they said "we dont do unlimited, our 1000 text is unlimited"
Maybe that was 1 agent trying to fob me off. Not too bothered since i wont use 1000+ text anyway.
Bagand, try to find a deal for them to match... That way you can get the ball going with negotiations.
I am looking for a deal with internet and W705 tonight, so tell me what you want in terms of mins and text then i'll try to give you some help on "other offers out there" for them to match lol.0 -
I just seem to go around in circles. Retentions tell me to go to returns. They put me through to customer services. They tell me to go to upgrades. It's all a big hash and I never seem to get anywhere! And they won't offer any deals either. What do I do now?Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

Cheers I'll be looking too. Finding it hard to find a deal that does include internet though, plemnty of 400mins 500txts type tarriffs that work out under £20 a month after cashback....0 -
Also, I'm looking for the N96 which vodafone offer free on £35 month contracts, 600 mins, unlimited texts, free internet but O2 won't go anywhere near matching this. Would it be best to just move, or are they likely to change their mind at the last minute?Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

What i find weird is, they said they wont give me a quote when the phone isnt in stock. So how did you get a quote when the phone is out of stock?
I've argued with them so much about that and the fact that the website still sells to new customers baffles me!
I'll just wait till monday, if not i'll take the w705 :T
Hi Potato!!
Well, upgrades said they wouldn't give me a deal as the phone was out of stock, so I just asked to be put through to cancel my contract as I'd seen it in stock elsewhere. They put me through to retentions and I said I'd be willing to stay with O2 and wait for the phone if they offered me a good deal, and there it was! Didn't have to haggle at all!
I didn't ask about the stock for new customers as I was happy enough with being able to go the store.
Try that approach and see if it works?
Good luck!

hmm, the best offers i can find is only from the orange network itself.
Like the orange website itself
200 mins, unlimited text = £20 x 18 months
400 mins, unlimited text = £25 x 18 months
Both have £50 cashback from quidco (i dont know how good they are at paying out)
on mobiles.co.uk
I can find an orange:
400 mins, unlimited text = £30 x 18 months with £120 auto cashback
makes it £540 - £120 = £420/18 = £23.33
and theres £40 quidco with them too
So effectively £21.11 (Again, if quidco is gaurenteed)
I think the 2nd offer ofJust called up now. Originally offered:
W705
600mins
1000txts
Web Bolt On
£25 18 months
If i was you, i would say i can get the phone for free for £21-ish from orange with 400 mins and unlimited texts. See if they can match it.
If they ask where from, be honest and say its £30 x 18 with £160 autocash back.
(dont be surprised if they dont match, cos i've got my pac twice now  ) but i love o2 for the inclusive mms and video calling lol!
Omg, i found it!
Vodafone's website
£25 x 18 months = £450
£450 - £90 quidco = £360
£360/18 = £20 per month
600 mins, unlimited texts
free W715 (same as W705 but with GPS)0 -
Sorted my new O2 contract with retention today and got
Nokia N95 8gb
1200 Mins
Unltd texts
Unltd internet use
£35 incl VAT
Really pleased with this as its double what I was getting for the same price0 -
Well finally renewed, got:
Free Blackberry 8900 Curve
600 min
1000 text
Unlimited web bolt-on
Free itemised billing
Home broadband for £2.50/month
All for £20/month on 18 month contract.
Plan to sell the phone, they appear to be going for upto £300 on ebay so hopefully I'll be paying under £5/month once I've cashed in.
The bloke on retentions said he thought the phone is unlocked, has anyone got a 8900 direct from o2 and checked this?
Quick update, sold the BB 8900 for £260 cash today (thought it less risky than ebay auctios), so effectively £100 for 18 months for above package, £5.56/month so delighted:j
For info, BB was locked to o2...but didn't matter to the buyer.0
