I've had the basic O2 home BB package for nearly 12 months, but no mobile with O2.
Has anyone managed to get a deal starting with O2 home broadband retentions rather than mobile first?
I was about to get their £20 Simplicity package the other day, but would really like a 5800 thrown in and maybe something off the BB.

    Achievable?

    hey blacknosugar,

i think you can,i was reading your post when i was on call with O2 customer service...i asked the lady on the phone and was told even customers of o2 broadband get some very nice deals.

i would say worth giving it try...and if you are after 5800 ...its not in stock !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • O2 bods, is it really and irrevocably true that internet usage cannot be added to the old Online 500 tariff? I ask this again cos I was banking on being able to (at the worst) pay for the unlimited web bolton if I didn't get it added on.

Alas I've been told that it cannot be added even if I wanted to pay for it as a bolt on!!! Someone please tell me it's not true!

If it is, my grandplan has now been shattered!

is it worth it ?or should i bargain for a better deal?any thoughts

you'll be able to get the free web bolt on as you've been with them for 6 years, just tell them you're going to vodafone as they're offering you a deal with web included. just make sure you go through retentions

    Thanks gcalpacket...

I really hope that I can call on Thursday or Friday.

This is what I currently have:-

    My tariff:
    O2 35 12 Month

    Contract duration:
    12 months

    Contract renewal date:
    12th April 2009

So should I call on Thursday?????

    All I want is :-

For £15 per month (on an 18 month contract):
    • 200 mins
    • 600 texts
    • free 02 to 02 calls (most of my calls are to 02 mobiles)
    • free unlimited web bolt-on
    • £150 credit (for not taking a phone)
Whats the chance of getting this contract???

Any of our O2 "friends" want to comment.... ;)

    Regards

    Yes, call Thursday.

In regards to what you're looking for.. bearing in mind that we can't guarantee anything, I'd image that package wasn't easily possible.. You've got 2 FOC bolt ons which isn't common, remove the web and I'd say you've got a decent chance to get that.

To add insult to injury, the only Nseries phones according to the O2 rep are the N96 and N95 8GB. Apparently, O2 decided the N85 wasn't worth it.

New phones are coming out in the next few months but no full details yet. They're expecting the N97 within the next month I was told.

    Hi Crystal

Do you live near an O2 store? It may be worth phoning the store to check if they have the phone you want and then phoning O2 to see if you can speak to a manager and get their agreement that you can go into store to get your new phone with them still giving you whatever deal you've sorted out over the phone.

If they agree to this then you'd probably have to call O2 afterwards to get them to adjust your tarrif to whatever deal you had agreed with them. If you go onto the O2 forum on the O2 site (under the help heading) then you can see a couple of success stores in the Nokia 5800 thread.

    Good luck!
