  • Previously on a £45 tariff, O2 credited me with £150 (not £180) for 18months sim only deal, 200mins & 400txt, still within the 14 days cooling off period, thinking about telling them to credit a further £30 or i'll leave??? What do you think?

    I've just upgraded to a free Nokia 5800 (the touch screen one) for £20 a month, unlimited 02 - O2, 400 X network mins and 1000 texts.
    :D
    I was on 200 mins 200 texts for £30.

I asked why carphonewarehouse could do the N96 for free on £35 a month but they wouldn't match it

Been trying to get the 5800 all week but its been out of stock! Been told to ring back Monday after 3 as it should be in (apparently stock system updates daily at 3?!)

    Some great deals on here.

Only problem I can see is that my current O2 e2save deal requires me to send the 12th (final) bill back to get the last cashback payment.

On the assumption that I get one of these deals a month or so before the end of the 12 month contract, I imagine it's going to result in a downward change of line rental before the 12 months is up - and that would mess up the cashback claim.

Any tips please? Is it possible to have the existing contract run right to the end of the 12 month period, and the new contract only kick in at that point?

Be careful about exactly which bill you need to send back to e2save for your 12th claim.

I've waited until my last bill (actually the 13th I've received off them) has been generated (confirmed via O2 billing department) before "upgrading". Will just have to wait and see what e2save do with my final redemption application but as far as I'm concerned I've fulfilled my contract so there should be no problem
  • Hi, was wondering if anyone could help me. Bit of a newbie to all this as my first contract is just about to expire and I believe I've paid way too much and took out the wrong contract initially as I never used much of my minutes.

Anyway, what exactly are these retention deals? I got a call from CPWs O2 dept that deals with upgrades and he just offered me a standard 18month contract. No incentive, no nothing. I told him I will more than likely go with T-Mobile as they have better priced and more suitable options for me. He said I can call up in two weeks when my last 30 days are up to request my PAC code. I asked him could he not offer me anything and he just said no. Was quite surprised that he didn't try and sell me anything to keep me....

How do I go abouts getting some of the deals people here are mentioning? The only phone I want really is the 5800. Thanks in advance.

You are classed as a new customer when upgrading normally, it's a fair deal that's operated. Basically making it fair that new customers can get what old can and old can get new offers. - I actually believe that to be fair.

The "deals" that people get are when they're in the last 30 days of the contract. To which retentions have to offer them, rather than the upgrades dept.
  • I know e2save have a lot of bad press, but is there anyone that can offer a glimmer of hope regarding them cos I've seen a deal on e2save (courtesy of a fellow MSEer) that beats anything that O2 can offer me!

    Any good review?

Not many good reviews I should think. Have you seen this huge thread detailing all the problems people have had, and giving advice on how to take CPW/e2save to court:

I've recently come to the end of a 12 month contract from e2save where I got 800 mins / 500 texts and a Samsung D900 effectively free with the cash back. I had to make 5 claims, which I set reminders in my phone for and sent in by recorded delivery. I did not have any problems at all and they paid every claim within about 2 weeks.

I would definitely deal with them again except that their offers don't seem as good these days.

Ahh ok I see. So how do I get in touch with retentions for CPW O2? Anyone have a number?
