  • How frustrating - having finally decided that the Renoir is the phone for me, O2 won't budge below £30/month for 600mins/1000texts/unlimited web. 18 month contract.

Apparently this is because I only use about 50mins/150texts per month so am not a high enough volume user to discount any further!

They will however discount the Samsung Pixon to £24.50/month on the same contract as above - I'm getting a bit stressed now!!

Presently have two 12 month 02 contracts (self + wife) expiring shortly. Came from e2save originally with a Nokia 6300 - usual overpriced cashback deal at £30 pm each for 200 minutes/200 texts pm.

We make very limited use of the phones (the cashback covered the entire annual cost, though) - maybe 20 minutes/20 texts pm each.

How low a deal is it likely to be possible to extract from O2? My son managed around £3 pm a year or so back - is this sort of figure still feasible? Decent cashback deals look a bit thin on the ground at the moment, or I'd go for yet another one.

As I posted back at January I have had the following deal - 3rd consecutive year in a row and I probably spent £5 for the whole year!!!! e2save are now part of CPW so you should be able to get the same deal. Remember the £300 is auto credited at beginning of contract so zero risk compared to cashback/chequeback deals....

Just to update just managed my 3rd consecutive year totally free 12 months contract with O2 CPW retentions

Sim only 75 mins 150 txt a month
    £25 month @ 12 months
£300 credited to account so no chequebacks for me :money:

Having said that was kinda tempted by the Iphone 3G but figured might as well go with a new contract then grab the Quidco as well

Thanks - that's useful. The only reason I've stuck with e2save has been the CPW backing - they've become much more 'difficult' with chequeback claims than they used to be (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=226689) but at least CPW are in a better financial position than some of their competitors.

I'd love to avoid the chequeback hassle - how easy was it to get the £300 up front?

As long as you speak directly to Retentions team and quote the deal - upgrades would only give me same contract but only £200 credit.

Thanks thats much better than what I was offered but the guy just would not budge said if I want to leave for the better deal then fair enough. I found him really pushy tbh he was arguing that other phones he offered were better and did not seem to want to listen when I told him I had made my mind up as to what phone I was offered.
Would it be worth calling again to speak to someone else ? I don't wnat to wait 3 months as I want to get the best price for my N95
    Thanks in advance
