I got the same when I called as their system couldn't update etc

I know they can't offer the G1 as it is t-mobile only, but the X1 is similar in terms of specs and features in my view and was more about the tariff and bonuses like the memory card :)

Or you could go for the Touch Pro (Xda Serra? Not too sure). Essentially the same but better reviews for the keyboard? YMMV though as I prefer the X1's keyboard as opposed to the Touch Pro. I'm guessing the tariff isn't that much different for phones in the same price range. I'm guessing it's the 45/month -40% or something for the loyalty bonus (feel free to correct me). I recall someone mentioning in this thread about free home broadband as well.

Regarding the memory card, might wanna look at play for the 8GB SDHC microSD. Got mine for a tenner last time. The price tends to go up and down so just wait for their promotion to kick in.

Yeah I was after them chucking it in though, got a load of microsd for my current phone/laptop/camera :)

I tried the touch pro and didn't really like the feel of it, that and the headphone jack is a winner for me, would get the touch HD but they dont do it yet.

I get my internet free from work so might get it for my parents, better than their capped tiscali right now lol

Hi all, I'm coming to the end of my contract and am on online texter 1200 minutes and 1000 texts. I see someone was offered this for £27, however I wanted to add unlimited weekends and unlimited web access too.

Do you think I'll be able to get this?

Also does anyone know if the HTC touch is coming to o2? I like the look of it and will be prepared to wait if necessary.

    TIA :)
Getting there... A deal at a time. :T

    Hi,
I'm due an upgrade with O2.
My wife is with Orange but contract is running out same time as mine.
My Brother in law has his PAC code from Vodaphone.
Now the above means that there are 3 new contracts up for grabs for the highest bidder so to speak.
We all want the new Blackberry Curve 8900 on the O2 network.
The CPW has it already available for £35 pm 18 mth contract with around 600 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited wifi/data (Blackberries BIS).

The O2 Blackberry 8900 should be available this coming Monday 5th January.
The main difference as far as I Know is the CPW ones are unbranded and unlocked with a Titanium battery cover. Wheras the O2 ones will be branded and locked with the original black back cover.
    My question is this:
Do you think I will have a good bargaining position when I go into CPW/O2 shops and via telesales with me having 3 new contracts for the salesperson.
Do you think I will be able to haggle out cheaper line rental or extra goodies etc
What do you think is the best way to get the best deal?
I've also seen the phone on mobiles.co.uk with 16months half price line rental but by redemption which I'm a wee bit wary of.
Aslo my mate is thinking of getting a BB so that would then be 4 contracts!
    Any thoughts?
    cheers now :supercool:

If I took out the o2 Broadband, Do you think it would give me less bargaining power when my mobile contract is up in April and I threatened to leave ?

i think you could just buy a pay and go sim and transfer the o2 broadband to the new pay and go number so as to not lose your discount - I have NOT tried this but assume it would work. so should not diminish your bargaining power...

I ended up taking the simplicity 30 tariff with 1200 minutes discounted to 25 for 6 months then i need to call back to have discount reapplied if i am still on it. still think this is a rip-off from retentions but anyhow will wait and see what new phones and tariffs come out over the next few months

Don't forget that, if you're considering the XDA Serra, Ignito or whatever O2 will call the HTC Touch HD, these phone are hugely customizable.

There are loads of 3rd party add-on progams and other resources for HTCs on the web. You really can use them for pretty much anything...

So the o2 serra is the HTC Touch Llyllyll?

Does anyone know if free broadband would still be possible?
