    Guys

What do you think of this offer.

My contract is due for renewal, last year I paid £45 per month, but i was lucky enough to get a 12 month contract, with 12 months free by redemption from E2Save, the phone wasnt up to much, but with effectively 12 months free, I cant really complain.

So far o2 retention team have offered me the following:

    18 month contract with Phone
    600 minutes
    1000 txts
    + Unlimted web browsing
    £20.00

Please can I have your opinions, will I be able to beat them down further in cost and what kind of phone should I be trying to negotiate ?

I have a SE K550i just now from my previous contract and its totally fine for what I need, so I was thinking about ebaying any phone that I get.

Comments welcomed, please... Thanks and Merry Christmas to all.

Clearly it depends on what phone you take but I'd try and go for either the deal at £15 a month or upping the texts to unlimited. If that were a 12 month deal then I'd take it but for 18 months you could do better;).

Seems they are doing 12 month deals still:

    Blackberry Bold
    600 Mins
    1000 Txts
    Blackberry Unlimited
    £30 a month
    12 Month contract.......

It's an awesome deal but I wonder if I should wait for the Curve?

Thats a really good deal- I thought the Curve was already available:)?
  • just been offered by retentions:

    SE c905 for free
    600 minutes
    1000 texts
unlimited web (or any bolt on)

for £20 based on 18 month contract.

The nice lady said they would not offer me any 12 month contracts with the same phone. She initially offered £25 monthly payment but i got her don to £20. I ve read Chattycathy say £15 is the best discount i can hop for so am i at my limit now?Would i maybe get a better discount with a "lesser" phone or a 12 month contract for similar price with a lesser phone?

I currently get free 02 broadband and this runs out in march so the lady said she could do notyhing with this but to negotiate with o2 broadband at the time??

Am i been too greeedy now hoping for something else? Should i wind my neck in and accept?

Any rumors on an Iphone PAYG price drop ? Trying to think whether I should wait for the price to drop or get PAYG now.
  • I was on the 18-month Online 20 Texter (50 minutes and 200 texts for £20 a month) and £10 a month home broadband, so overall o2 were getting £30 a month off me.

Just called up to cancel and quoted a cheap tarriff off the Orange website,

    Was initially offered:
    200 minutes
    400 texts
    unlimited o2 to o2 calls
    Sony Ericsson c902
    for £15 a month
and then broadband for a £5
giving a total of £20 a month on an 18-month contract

Because I'm a heavy web user on my phone, I tried to get free data usage thrown in. Was put on hold and then offered this deal:
    600 minutes
    1000 texts
    unlimited data usage
    Sony Ericsson c902
    for £20 a month
    and then broadband for £2.50
giving a total of £22.50 a month for an 18-month contract

Other people might have been able to haggle for a better deal, but i'm gonna be paying o2 £8.50 less each month for my broadband and mobile and i've got a lot more texts and minutes so I don't have to be so stingy when calling friends.

Was gonna go with a Simplicity deal but with this deal I should be able to sell the Sony c902 for somewhere in the region of £150.

    I'm currently on a 12 month O2 contract paying £30/month.

My contract is due to finish on March 31st and I was wondering at what point I can realistically phone up and see what retention deal I can get.

I'd be very happy with some of the deals listed above, but is it too soon for me to try?

    Thanks,
    Kevin.
  • I phoned up on the billing date, 30 days in advance of my final day.
