Just got the following during my first phone call with Jill from the Specialist team, which I'm reasonably happy about as I'm only a light user:
18 month contract - Online 25 (i.e. 200 mins, 400 texts)
Got £150 cashback and then the contract for £10 per month (i.e. £15 reduction)
I needed a new phone and got the Nokia 6600 Slide for £166, therefore costing me £16
Then I was offered free broadband, which I was paying Sky £5 for, so I took it as my parents have got o2 BB and it's quick
All in all a saving of £20 per month so I'm a happy bunny!0 -

FREE Home Broadband for 12 Months from O2! (Existing Customers Only)
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/287395/free-home-broadband-for-12-months-f/
Tell them to throw in the boardband free cos its free anywaysand you want 600mins, 500texts, unlimited data, unlimited Wifi because your mate called in before and this is what he got, and your both on the same contract deal. This will cost u £35 month, as they cant knock any money off.
if you have no joy, keep ringing back, one of the advisors will give you a better deal!
Also yes you can buy a prepay phone but you cant buy the recon iphone from o2 or in the o2 shops!!! u can however use your o2 sim in prepay iphone. i did post the info before. i have a sim only deal £10 month (discounted) and im using my sim in my iphone.will still go for free broadband though, that's a deal no-one can turn down! Can you still go through Quidco for it?

The 6600 looks nice Dave, let me know if it's any good if you can...
I think it looks nice and practical and I've seen a number of good reviews. Most importantly it does what I need a phone to do which is sync with Outlook. My current Samsung u600 is horrendously bad at it, whereas my last Nokia did that really well. When I got the Samsung which didn't it made organsing things much harder!
Oh and thanks everyone for all of your helpful advice. It was a very pleasant transaction - not at all pushy (on either side) and I managed to get the best deal I've ever had on a mobile.0 -
I've just got off the phone with retentions... I want the iphone real bad.... but they said NO to any discount...
At the moment i have 15 GBP off as a discount.. as im a heavy user... AND 12 months.
But they dont do 12 months anymore which sucks!
they offered 18 months 35 quid for the iphone... which i thought was way too much past mu budget.
then they offered a 45 quid tariff for 27 quid without taking a phone and getting 150 quid back meaning line rental over the 18 months comes to 18 odd quid...
so thats 324 quid + a 349 8GB pay as you go Iphone... where i can pop my monthly line rental phone in... grrrrr!!! so much money! aarrgghhhhhh!
anyone know where i can get a cheap offline iphone? is it possible?

Join the queue buddy
We have reliably informed that o2 prices will come down on the iPhone in the new year, or you can get the refurb iPhone through retentions for the £35 pm, and 18months deal, but FREE iPhone...? It was, and still is, tempting for me, but £35 is about double what I usually pay even with the bonus of a free iPhone and free broadband...hmmmm :A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Yeh exactly TiTheRev... i only pay 20 quid right now on a 12 month contract. You look forward to a new phone after 12 months... but 18 !
ejimayes... yeh sure, i could wait... Thanks for your support guys. Was a bit upset after hearing they couldnt carry on with my existing tariff discounted at 12 months. they are noobs trying to keep customers for longer... maybe because of the credit crisis.
I'll keep checking this post for any updates.0 -
I have been on an old contract for some years now with o2 called the all time 75 which gives me 75 anytime minutes to landlines and o2 phones and no texts, when not having taken a phone for the last couple of years have got a £100 credit thus making by contarct £20 for the year.
For some time I have wanted to get a N95 and have been offered this phone for free with 600 mins and 1000 messages and unlimited internet for £24.50/month.
As I spend around £5 to £7 per month on texts messages this didn't seem to bad a deal, does anyone think that it could be beaten, I will say that I am very very unlikely to use all my monthly allowances as I am only currently using just under 100 messages and then around the 80 mins per month. I fi went for a lower tariff it would only save me 50pence as the discount would be lower.
Should I be asking for anything else do perple think/I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not sure!0 -
