Anyone have any idea what I can use a magazine rack for (apart from the obvious!) I've found one my son made at school.........quite a nice one and too nice to paint - we've already got a magazine rack of sorts (well its actually a stiff hessian bag and looks good where we've got it.
Must use this magazine rack for something...............it's just what ???

Hi Mary, I'm just on the lookout for something I can leave beside my sofa to keep a few things handy - remotes, tissues, tv glasses, inhaler etc, I suppose a mag rack might work for something like this if it has solid sides? The other use that comes to mind is to keep all my bedside reading tidy, there's usually a small pile of crosswork and shabby chic books littering the bedside floor! Dont know if either of those ideas are of use? ;)

Thank you Rosieben, I like to have a read every now and then, to see what shabby chic-ers are creating etc. If I had more time for creativity, I would get stuck into another project, but Pretty Practicals keeps me busy most of the time and any spare time I tend to spend with my husband and (grown-up) kids (when they aren't too busy with their friends!).

I'm constantly amazed at the talent that I see on this thread and on the new forum (and others). Seeing other people's projects has spurred me on to try things some of which at least have been successful :D Most of the things I see for sale are out of my price range but sometimes I steal an idea and do my own take on it ;)

rosieben - thanks..............but it doesn't have solid sides (sorry should have mentioned that) and there's no room next to my bed for it (books are kept in my bedside cupboard).
I just feel there has to be some sort of alternative use for it............
Must put my thinking hat on................

I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
