Thanks Mary43
Baby got here 8 weeks ago - home birth of 90 minutes duration (whew!!). Beginning to feel a bit more human now that things have settled down and ready to have a bigger challenge than my sewing and knitting.
Good news is he is a MSE baby - breastfeeds and into the washable nappies too - Yipee

Located a great second hand furniture place in our town - was looking for a sofa and had saved £100. Got the 3-piece suite for £30 and spent the rest on
Cot for baby (currently in bed with me) £2.50
Set of oak drawers (just needs cleaned) £15.00
A set of 2 drawers with cupboard underneath ( in horrid pine but nice shape and will look great painted) £15.00
Pine Table and 4 chairs (nice shape but again very dated pine) £20.00
and the piece de la resistance
A hideous dark oak kitchen dresser (colour is vile, but painted cream or duckegg blue will go fabulous in a kitchen. Hoping it means that I have to fit less cupboards in the kitchen as well - LOL - even more mopneysaving) For the bargain price of £10. I have always wanted one of these since watching the tarmhouse kitchen as a kid.:j
Total spends £92.50 :A
And because I live literally around the corner they will deliver on Monday for free - well my baby DS did give the van man the cutest toothy grin and I think that swung it - LOL:rotfl:
I have £7.50 left of my sofa budget to tart up all of this furniture. So I think I will go and rummage in all my friends sheds this weekend to find some suitable paint ends to use up.
Boy it is going to be a busy summer.

Rather than clutter up this fabulous thread with my inane ramblings - shall I search and resurrect my "Make do and Mend" thread??
Then you can all be challenged to keep me motivated on those days when you get just to weary to think of anything beyond feeding the baby (ooops - thats just my excuse!!!)
First challenge to myself is to find out how to upload pictures to a thread - because the before, during and after pictures are a great idea to keep me on task.
Got six months to create my dream home out of nothing (moneywise) so that we can have a brilliant Christmas surrounded by our own things.
