:j Bob fancy seeing you on here ! Well those mugs are nice but, imho they don't shout Cath Kidston to me, I associate her with floral patterns. I got some fab Churchill mugs from the Pound Shop that look more shabby chic to me.

Here is a quilt I made a few years ago. Its crazy patchwork of bits of dresses/trousers etc from my childrens clothes and other bits. In the middle of each patch (although you cant see it very well) is a cross stitch of a flower with the names starting from A going through to Z. I have embroidered the families names and dates ramdonly across the patches. I lightly stuffed the hearts. It fits the double bed nicely in the winter. I was going to use it as a wall hanging but it didnt look right. The dark blue material for patching it together was given to me.....so a very cheap quilt. The lining was a double throwover found in a charity shop for £2.

How are you getting on with your cross stitch Mumzy?

thanks Mollymop. It's a case of not having much money, so how can I be creative without spending all the housekeeping!!

I have recently dabbled in a few cards for family and am collecting bits and bobs for a scrapbook thingy for my dd, but I dont know where to begin really with that. I have looked at books on the subject but I dont want to end up paying lots of money for it as you can go quite over the top with them. So if anybody has any tips I'm all ears!

I would like to do a steam train theme as we recently went on one and my dd and her hubs love them. I have a few photos of the train and some green papers (reduced of course!) to imitate the wonderful country we passed through.
