I used to have that Linda Barker book, never really used it at the time so ended up giving it away..........if I could remember who to I'd borrow it back. There were some brilliant ideas in there.

Well, Dads trays still not done. I came to the conclusion that it would be easier for me to pencil the outline inside the stencil and then paint it in. Tried it out on some more paper and OH reckons its ok...........I'm beginning to doubt anything might do with it so its best left till another day.
Can't see it being tomorrow........builder is due to do some work on an inside wall where the plaster fell off................I invisage a lot of noise and dust !!
So,another little project (well seemed small at the time I thought of doing it) left .........seem to have had a waster day..............and still there's paperwork all over my desk:confused:

why dont you try rub ons.... and then maybe varnish over the top to seal them in.?

Thanks ...the cooker is by Leisure. Got it from Currys. The cabinet doors are lovely but I still want to paint them and OH has agreed
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

I don't knot the thread at all. I use 1 strand of thread and double it. Thread the 2 ends through the needle so the loop is at the bottom. Bring the first stitch up from behind the work but be careful not to pull the whole thread through. Put the needle back into the work to make the first stitch and at the back of the work put the needle through the loop of the thread. This anchors the thread without the need for knots and keeps the back tidy.

Hi Mumzy I have sent you a pm which I hope will help you ,as you start your very first cross stitch picture:D As with anything that you've never done before it can seem bewildering, do persevere with it and DONT give up easily. We all look forward to seeing it posted on this thread in the near future:D
