Mumzy, have you started the cross stitch yet? It is very theraputic once you start. If you are on the other site there arr photos of my latest project in progress. I have been stitching now for about 15 years and still love it. Good luck with yours when you start. What is the design?

Made a start on Dads old tray.............was going to get a few matchpots in a sort of cream colour then found a matchpot of pale green, mixed it with some white paint and put the first coat on so its a sort of very pale minty green ...........going to stencil clusters of forgetmenots on it but think at this rate it'll be tomorrow before I get to that stage. It'll need three coats of my 'mixed' paint...........could kick myself for not giving it base coat of white in the first place but was so anxious to know what my mixed up colour looked like. Oh well live and learn (will I???? )

i must admit my first port of call is over on the other forum now.... as there is diff threads for diff things..projects/finds/makes etc.....

i personally think that this thread out grew itself.. if that makes sense....and with mse rules.. it is a bit restricted.....

but .....on saying that.... i do love it here.... and will need to post a bit more, not only on the shabby chic thread, but on mse in general....

The library were selling old books and I got 'Jazz up your Junk with Linda Barker' for 50p. It is full of ideas along with hints and tips.

I'm slowly getting my head round us having sold and moved out, so I can start to think about my new house and it's contents. It all takes time to come to terms with. :p

I used to have that Linda Barker book, never really used it at the time so ended up giving it away..........if I could remember who to I'd borrow it back. There were some brilliant ideas in there.

Well, Dads trays still not done. I came to the conclusion that it would be easier for me to pencil the outline inside the stencil and then paint it in. Tried it out on some more paper and OH reckons its ok...........I'm beginning to doubt anything might do with it so its best left till another day.
Can't see it being tomorrow........builder is due to do some work on an inside wall where the plaster fell off................I invisage a lot of noise and dust !!
So,another little project (well seemed small at the time I thought of doing it) left .........seem to have had a waster day..............and still there's paperwork all over my desk:confused:

My cooker is finally installed and I'm cooking our first meal on it. See here
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.
