No you dont need anything, everything is included in the little kit, which is a begineers one. Practise, practise, practise!! As you get more confident everything will come together. and then you go onwards and upwards:D Posting it tomorrow when I go out in the afternoon.

Here's a picture of the back and the mould!!!! I have decided to strip it all off after all and await some100_0412.jpg?imgmax=512body's advice as to how to put it together.

I have never re-upholstered a chair before. After you have got rid of the padding, I would check it for woodworm and give it a scrub in some mild watered down bleach to get rid of the mould and grim. That's what I would do anyway....but over to someone else who has done this sort of thing before:D

Thanks Pennib I will try it and I have taken the back completely off now to get rid of the damp stuff. Now, mmmmm, to put it together again:confused:

Not too sure what you mean about putting it together again:confused: Do you mean re-covering with new material? If so, you could use the the old material for a template for the new. But I wouldn't re-use any of the old stuff myself including the horsehair stuffing.....shudder:o You can get new padding Google is your friend there and maybe there will be instructions on how to go about re-upholstering as well:D Hope this helps a bit.
Forgot to add it's a nice chair and well done you on seeing its potential!

Can I ask you all a quick question please... ?

Does anyone have cream or white cupboards with white benches?... I am getting closer to revamping my kitchen and am now worried that painting them Dimity F&B may look a bit plain with the current white benches...??

    Any advice, experience?

    Thank you all.. x

I've only recently started using the Dimity - I've painted a chair and a test skirting board in my kitchen, which has white walls. It looks lovely. Vintage Pleasure's woodwork is all Dimity, and her house looks stunning if you go to her flickr images. So I think it would be lovely - you could then accessorize with blind/tea towels/chair pads to add colour.
