I had a call earlier from communications direct claiming to represent 3, I politely told them I wasn't interested (having just upgraded through 3 but didnt say that), when they wouldnt take no for an answer I put the phone down on them0

Does anyone have a direct number for 3's retention team?0

Has anyone got any good retentions deals coming through yet?
I am just coming to the end of my contract:
18 month Direct Texter 1400 @ £17.50 (halfprice for full term (£35)) direct from three.
I rang up and the best they could offer me was the M+M300/500 at the normal prices with the choice of two rubbish phones the Nokia 6120 and the SE K530i. I laughed at him.
He told me that was all he could offer me due to my usage patterns, I asked what they defined for the usage, and they wouldn't tell me! It was ridiculous, I asked to get put through to one of the UK call centres and he said he couldn't. I told him about the other offers with other networks and he was genuinely not interested.
To say that my brother, who used hardly any of his allowance got a K750i on an 18 month contract for only £10 a month (M+M300 with 200 text bundle).
I'm going to ring them up again soon...Student Moneysaving Expert :beer:0 -
muddyfox470 they are real b*stards until you get nearer to the end of your contract, then the deal gets sweeter and sweeter.0

I got a call from 3 yesterday offering me to stay on the same price plan I am on-500 mins and 100 texts for £5 a month plus a free N95 and managed to get the same offer for my other account to although the phone was a free sony ericson phone both are 18 month contracts. Later that day I called up to see if my sister could have the same deal as she is with 3 and was told that she couldn't the best they could do was £15?
Hopefully others can get the £5 deal too

I'm looking forward to giving notice on my 6 month contract but sadly that's not for a few months.
@ pinky8
what's your usage like? I can't work out if the best deals go to those overspending on their plan or not? One problem I have is my most called numbers are also on 3.0 -

I have probably spent £60 over my allowance for the whole year for both contracts. I use all of my minutes up every month too.
When I asked for it on my sisters account they said No and explained that I only got it because they just carried the deal I was on over for another 18 months. I hadn't even cancelled my contract yet?
Good Luck! xxxIt costs nothing to be nice...:)

Hi
My 3 contract is up in September, I've been contacted twice this week by 3, I phoned the incoming number back (07782333325) to confirm that it was 3 and it is. Got all the guff about loyalty reward etc but no better a deal from them than from the 3 shop as a new customer and still not as good as buying on line via Quidco as a new customer and using a friends 3 phone number as recommend a friend so that we receive £30 each.
Does anyone know if I will be able to port my 3 phone number (which was a number I ported to 3) when I terminate my present contract and ask for my PAC code, so porting from 3 back to 3? If I cant do this I will port the number onto a Tesco sim card to prevent losing the number.

I strongly recommend being polite to them, remember they are human and if you treat them courteously they are more than likely to return the compliment0 -
Thanks Rebel for the info.
If the retention dept offer me as good a deal as I can get as a new customer then I will take it, if not will terminate my present contract and take out a new contract. My present phone number is one that I bought so dont want to lose it so if need be will port it onto a pay as you talk sim card until such time that I can do something with it.
Thanks
