3 Retention Deals

My contract is up in the first week of August, and I've been haggling with 3 for the last week.
The contract that I'm currently on is 300 mins, 150 texts with the picture msgs, downloads etc. I currently have a £20 loyalty diso!!!! so i get it for only £5 a month. However the problem is that I always run over on minutes and texts, so it doesnt end up being that cheap for me.
They have offered to carry on my deal and give me the Nokia N95 as a free upgrade, which is a really good phone.
I have the same deal as you, ending 25 August. Rang up today, they wouldnt offer me the N95, only the 3120, which is pretty rubbish. Any idea how I can get them to offer me the N95? On the automated system, do you press 2 for Upgrades, or 3 for Leaving? I went for Leaving, and then they transferred me to upgrades.0 -
The thing is I am effectivley in my last 30 days. My contract is due to expire on 6th August, but I havent actually given notice that I'm leaving.
Can I give notice and then cancel it?
Yes you can give notice that you are leaving and then cancel it. Thats exactly what i done either 2 or 3 years ago and then instead of £30 a month contract we now have £5 a month for the same package. 300 minutes, 150 texts, 25 mms, 25 video mins, £5 free downloads. Last year when i renewed they just continued it with no new phone which was fair enough. This year when i phoned to see if they would renew the £5 a month, they did but also with a free phone. I was well happy. Hubby had 6500 slide for free and i had the N95 8gb for £30.0 -
I just rang Orange as I wasn't happy with the upgrade offer and when I went to through to cancellations they accepted it and said my contract would end on 8th Sept and I've been with them for donkey's years!

Finally sorted my upgrade deal out with 3. I ended up ringing them in the end. Staying on my £5 a month contract (300mins, 150 txts, 25 MMS, 25 mins vid calls and £5 downloads) I got a N95 8gb for a one off payment of £95. I could have had a silver N95 for £55 and a load of other phones free.
I think upgrades are down to your personal spend. In the last 12 month that i have been on the £5 a month deal I have had some months that my bill was just £5 and some that have been slightly over and some a lot over. I have been with 3 for just over 3 years now and I also have half price mobile broadband with them.
The N95 8gb is listed on ebay. I bought a siliver n95 off there a few months ago cause my N80 was dieing. Am more then happy with the N95 so I am keeping that one. The N95 8gb should sell for about £230-250.0 -

Sounds good mate.
I got offered that phone for free on the same contract, but as I said before, i need more minutes so it wouldn't be that useful for me.
The only reason I'd get it now, would be to sell the phone. I think you can get around £400 for it.0 -
Hi everyone, first post so please be gentle!
Thought I'd chip in with my tuppence worth here.
Currently have 2 T-Mobile contracts, both due up at the end of July. Today ordered a Nokia N95 8gb from the Three website, at £24 p/m on Mix and Match 300.
Used Quidco to get £32.50(Verified), and also used my Mums 3 number to bung her £30 (bless her cottons), and get my £30 (not verified as per yet). Also, before I ordered, I had a go on their live chat thing, and got a £20 accessories promo code from the chatter.
Once the phone arrives in a couple of days, I'll do the same again, but use my new number as the RAF number, and thereby get another £30 there!0 -
Hi RKS, seems like you are happy with your purchase and the £20 accessories live chat promo sounds like a good idea.
I rung Three back yesterday. I had previously been offered the Nokia 6500 Slide and the Mix&Match 1100 for £20/month but I knew I could get better or equivalent as a new customer through Quidco/RAF. I spoke to an Indian lady and she told me that the previous offer wasn't available any longer and offered me the Mix&Match 500 for £18/month! She wouldn't listen to any sense at all so I cancelled my contract and will soon be signing up as a new customer.0 -

I was offered the exact same mix and match deal, but rejected it too, because I though I could get better. I have been holding out for a better one, but nothing as yet.
Hopefully I can get that one if I cant get a better one, but who knows.0 -

Does that mean you will lose your existing number?QUIDCO £2827 paid out since October 2007:D0 -
You wont be able to port your number back onto 3, I already asked this question as I am doing same as you, signing up as a new customer.
I will ask for my PAC code and port my present number onto a Tesco sim card so that I dont lose the number, not sure if I could port it from Tesco back to 3? but cant port from 3 to 3.
I had the same experience as you, offered a c...p deal and can do better as a new customer.0
