3 Retention Deals

Hi, I am not bothered about losing my number. It will reduce the number of people who shouldn't have my number anyway and I can just text my number to those people who need it.0

You wont be able to port your number back onto 3, I already asked this question as I am doing same as you, signing up as a new customer.
I will ask for my PAC code and port my present number onto a Tesco sim card so that I dont lose the number, not sure if I could port it from Tesco back to 3? but cant port from 3 to 3.
I had the same experience as you, offered a c...p deal and can do better as a new customer.
I found it very easy using a virgin sim. Took two working days to port number from 3 to virgin and then another 2 working days to port it back. No hassle at all.0 -
Just got my PAC code. For my current contract I have 500minutes any network for £15/month for life. They offered me Sony Ericsson C902 or LG U990 Viewty or N95 8Gb for £75 all on my current plan. If I decide to go to any mix and match plans then I would have the same deals as all new customers.0

It sounds like they're not budging on the mix and match deals. I thought that if I held out, then they'd give me a better deal on those, but it doesn't seem likely after reading people's thoughts on here.
I'm swaying towards moving to Orange now.0 -
I got the £17.50 deal from 3 which gives me 750mins and 150 texts, 18 months contract, however, they say it will go to £35 so I cannot continue it, im in my last month and they offered me fr £18 per month, 500 flex mins/texts, a Nokia 6500 phone of w910i and free msn I think.
Comparing the both, the deal I have now is better so surely they should beat the current deal I have with them in order to keep me as a customer. Talking about existing customers, I think 3 are just simply a joke in keeping existing customers.0 -

Yeah they are a complete joke! I got 500 mins for £15 plus other offers and after selling the phone the contract was totally free, I simply can't beleive they can't offer me a similar deal as an existing customer, it simply annoys me!0 -

Yeah, they definitley seem to have got worse at retaining their customers. I've been with them for a few years, and they were very good at first, however I presume that was down to getting a large enough chunk of the market share. That view seems to have changes somewhat now!0 -
My current contact is 12 months of 300+150+25+25+£5 for £5 a month, with no phone. I've just been offered the same (or 18 months) with a 3120 classic. I tried it on to get a 6500 slide (as this model is also free on Mix and Match) but they wouldn't have it. However, the amount extra I've paid this year is tiny, and I have their £5 3G broadband "for existing customers" which they could potentially have used as a lever to get me to stay (in theory it doubles in price if you leave), so I can hardly complain, can I? The phone will also be dispatched immediately (contract doesn't run out for another three weeks).
To summarise: blooming good value.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -
Hello Everyone,
Sorry to jump in, but ive an unusual question and I thought someone here might be able.
Last year I negotiated a new contract with 3, that worked out at 10 p/m for 500mins, 100 texts on a 12 month contract. This, they told me, was a lifetime offer, and I was very happy with it.
Now my contract is up for renewal again, and id quite like to stay on a similar deal. Ive two questions:
Firstly, is my deal as good as im likely to get? Or should I try to beat them down even further?
Secondly, i'd quite like a second simcard with an identical offer on it. What are my chances of getting this deal twice?0 -
Just renewed and got the following ...
LG Viewty (Refurb)
500 Mins
100 texts
£5 a month for life (18 Month Min)
Was on 300 mins/1000 texts for £17.50 (18 month half price due to rise to £35)
Gave 30 day notice and also asked to go to PAYG.
Within a few days was offered Viewty/500mins/100texts for £10. Same deal offered over a week of calls which I refused then heard nothing.
On last day of contract I phoned 3 and asked for retentions to call me that day. They phoned back about an hour later and offered the deal for £5 which I took. Phone arrived next day.
I was over the £17.50 most months of the previous contract with one month being £90 odd
Situations changed now so hoping to keep in the allowance with the extra mins on this deal. Might go over by a few texts some months but should still be a worthwhile deal.0
