3 Retention Deals

I've had 3 calls from Three now, all saying they cannot beat my offer and what do I want to do. I keep on telling them I'll wait and just cancel my contract come August. But they are pretty persistent that full price tariff with the worst phones is the best offer they can make. Pretty rubbish if you ask me!!Student Moneysaving Expert :beer:0

Exactly the same for me Muddyfox 470, have been quoted £25 p/m for SEc 902 on 500 mins + 100 text (told them I didnt want the text) ,
I'm currently on £35 p/m and don't use the 150 sms, 40 mms, 50 video minutes but do use my 750 call minutes and the £5 of downloads.
Have been contacted 3 times and each time the guy on the other end did not listen when I told him I would be better off starting up as a new customer and all he kept on about was the fact I would not lose my phone number.
I don't know that I want to continue with 3, they are so difficult to deal with over the phone, if I cannot get a decent deal either as an existing customer or as a new customer will go back to Onestopphoneshop for a deal with them on some sort of cashback.0 -
I am on the £15 a month 500 minutes deal and have given my 30 days notice and got a pac code. I called them and asked why i had not been offered a 500 Minutes/Text retention deal for £10 a month. The guy said they have a special retentions team and they dont call you with these offers until your 30 days notice is virtually up.0

Can I just establish, if they offer you £5 a month deal for the 300 mins/texts tariff, do you still get a new handset?

No, there's just no profit margin for them to do so. If you take the £5/month deal, you should get a new phone in a years time though (assuming its the same as now).0 -

wow, that's a good deal. had you been with them long?
i've been paying £15 a month for just 15 months so wouldnt expect much generosity0 -
I rang the other day to give my 30 days notice and i don't know if anybody else has noticed but the chap on the other end seemed quite 'aggressive' in his sales patter. He would not accept my notice at first saying that if I gave notice I would lose all my benefits, I currently get an £18 a month discount, I'm paying £12pm for 500 mins and 100 txts with a 6288. He asked me what I wanted and I said to pay the same and a SE K850i. He refused saying it was an expensive phone but I could have it for £21pm with 500 m&m and 300 3 2 3, I pointed out that I could get this on the website as a new customer, ok he says what about what your paying now and a one off payment of £120 for the phone this he dropped to £80 after a couple of mins, this still works out to approx £19 pm. In the end he accepted my notice and then told me that I would have to have my pac code now as if I asked for it later I would have to give another 30 days notice? I said thats not true, is it?
I await more calls.0 -
The question to ask is how much Three make out of you each month, more than how long you've been with them.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0
