I got offered 750 mins, unlimited texts, 50 video minutes, 50 video msgs, £5 downloads and a Nintendo DS for £21 a month. I said I want it to be £15 but they only ended up going down to £20. So I refused the deal.

Even though its a pretty good deal, I'm sure they can do better, so I'll call up to cancel today.

I rang up to give my 30 days notice last night, took 36 minutes to get the guy to give me a PAC code, he really didnt want me to go! Unfortunately he couldnt offer me any decent phones (im on the £5/month deal), only nokia 3120.
Then an hour later I got a call from another department, offering the Nokia 6500 Slide, but I've seen some really bad reiews of that so I turned it down.
Ideally I'd like an N95, I wonder if they'll ring me back with more offers!

Ah - I'm on your deal and tried to blag the 6500 slide (much better camera) but they wouldn't have it. As I said earlier, it's excellent value anyway, but it's fun playing the game!
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.

I'm currently on the £5 deal too, but the minutes/texts just aren't enough for me. To stay on the same plan, they've offered me any phone for free, including the N95 8gb for free. But its too big for me!

I am not a big fan of big phones either even if everyone is raving about it. I would sell it a buy a smaller one to my taste lol

What phone was this with? With what people are saying now I'm starting to think I haven't really got the best deal so I might just send the phone back and see what happens.

3 doesn't offer Nintendos or any other hardware incentives, except Slingboxes which were part of X-Series Gold. So whoever called you was not from "3" retention team. We are talking network "Retension deals", as per title.

Yeh I'm pretty sure he started the conversation saying blah blah blah from 3 and I also rang three back up after I accepted the deal to see it everything was coshure and the deal was how I accepted it on the phone and it was. So was this a good deal do you think or should I have hung on for more? I just want to know people's thoughts because the guy on the other end of the phone said that there's a cooling off period or something and if you decided you weren't happy you could send it back. I just thought it wasn't that bad of a deal because once you take into account the value of the DS which would take off approximately £5 (if I sold it for £90) off the monthly cost which would in theory take the cost per month to £19.
I suspect the deals will get a lot better if you'd cancelled and waited, they're certainly not going to get any worse and the guys on the phone are very convincing that the deal won't get any better..... just politely reject the deal.

I too am suspicious that you are not dealing direct with 3 as they don't usually offer hardware like consoles etc.

Thanks for this info. I didn't get your deal but I managed to get to 3 and had my upgrade reduced from 18 to 12 months with posibility of upgrading after 9 months.... with a daughter at uni that breaks phones all the time it is a good idea.
They all offer 50% discount on the broadband top package so £15 a month. It might be good for her.
