It looks like we are going to cancel the wifes contract today, and are looking at the 02 sim only deal of £20 pm,which will give her 600 mins, and unlimited texts.Plus if she adds a bolt on,which is £7.50,she also gets free 02 to 02 calls.

Hey Quinny - did you realise that on that deal you can change the free bolt on from unlimited texts to free o2 to o2 calls? You'd still have 600 mins and 1000 texts... Depends on how many texts the missus sends i guess but if she was happy with 1000 texts it'd only cost you a grand total of £20 including the free o2 to o2 calls as well!
I'm considering this deal as i wanted the free web bolt on, the 600 mins and 1000 texts would be plenty for me too... bargain all round... great spot mate!

About 3 retention deals:
I have just ended by 18th month contract with 3, so I rang up telling them i want to disconnect as I don't need a mobile anymore (a lie). So they offered me so crap £15 a month deals which i declined. Waited a few days (just like Martin says in his guide) and voila, just now a call from 3. 12 month contract for £5 a month, i get 250mins and 50sms. (no new phone which is fine). Wicked!!! Whole year of mobile for £60
Thought I share this with you guys, it works.0 -

1) When did your contract end?
2) When did you ring them?
3) When did they ring you back.
Answering these three questions will be GREAT help:T0 -
Well,3 got their marching orders tonight, and then because the wife is now going onto the 02 sim only deal mentioned above,we got her 6288 unlocked by 3,for £15.Cheaper than buying a new phone, and it now works on 02,because I have tried it with my sim card.
Just about to sign up,via Quidco of course,to the 02 sim deal, and when that's done and dusted,we'll be giving 02 the PAC code, which we also have.

I've been with them for 4 years decided not to upgrade but keep my exisiting phone.
I was offered 750 mins, unlimited texts, 50 video minutes, 50 video msgs, £5 downloads on a 12 month contract at £40pm.
Not only that but they have applied a credit to my account and given me 9 months free line rental. In month 10 I will be given half price line rental and 11 and 12 will be £40. Working out a £8.33 per month over 12 months. Not sure if they are still doing this but I was given this in May.0 -
1) When did your contract end? july 2008
2) When did you ring them?
30 days before end of contract
3) When did they ring you back.
They first rang back 2/3 days after I called them with a crap offer. Then 2nd time they rang me back about another 2 days after that and then finally about 2 days after that they rang me with the best (above offer).
I've been with 3 for 18 months. In the current market, the customer is definitely king and just tell them you are leaving or want to disconnect because you cannot afford a mobile during the credit crunch. And that's it, they will do everything to keep you.

Your father pedals car telephones at a 300 percent markup. Your mother works on heavy commission at a camera store. Graduated to it from espresso machines. Hah!0
