  • Hi all,

I've been on 3 for two years now. I'm very happy with the service, and it's the only network which I can get coverage on at my house (without standing in the middle of the road!)

The deals I have had are:

Year 1: Bought through CPW, got a Nokia 6630, cashback eff. £7.50 p/m
Year 2: Continued with 3 , got an LG U890 (rubbish) - negotiated deal to get 1/2 price for a year. £15 p/m

What is the best deal I am going to be able to get from them.
My only option is to stay with them, so I'm going to have to accept whatever they say, but I'm not going to back down without a fight :)

Can anyone let me know what they've managed lately?
I'm not really fussed about the phone - if they can't offer me anything decent, I'd rather take it Sim only, and use it in my Nok. 6630.

i managed 12 months free a few months back ....

I suggest thought not to take a phone and rather buy from ebay something like a 6300 ....and just get a sim only deal and u wont get what you want.

So ask them to cancel your contract and then within a week you will get a call from retentions saying congrats you have been selected as a special customer we will give you 12 months free ....wait for the call back and get the best offer
  • i called up Three today to just ask when my last 30 days r up! and the i was asked what my reason was for wanting to cancel. I said i can get a MUCH better deal with cash back, new fone, free for 12 months 500mins 500 text. And he instantly offered me £5 a month without fone, on my 750mins and 150text tariff. I rejected, and im gonna sit it out till they offer me a offer i cant refuse (Y)

How long was the deal for? If they offer me the same deal for 12 months,I would probably be happy. £60 for the year for all those minutes/texts isn't bad! Or can we barter 3 down even more?:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

grommit - every time I have requested 3 to give me the unlock code for my old phones, they want to charge me £15 each, even though the contracts finished 1 and 2 years ago respectively.!!!
Yes I know that - which is precisely why Three know you are serious about leaving if you request it.
A better way may be to seek out RoadHog on this forum
From what I read on here, the only way to unlock phones like the 6280 is to get a code from the network.
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.

yeah its a pretty good deal considering i was paying 22 quid a month b4! i got a feeling i'll hear from them again offering something better (hopefully) i dont think theres a time limit to the deal. U just have to make out that u REALLY wanna leave! i told them to offer something closer to £zero and i'll consider it hahaha

gromit - just re-read and I took your initial post out of context, sorry.

So, maybe giving 30 days notice, then a week or so later asking for unlock AND pac together might bring home the bacon in terms of the best retention offers???

  • I have just had another chat with 3,and it's right what some people say on here, who you get on the other end of the phone dictates what sort of offers you get. I phoned them the other day and got "you have a contract with 3 which must stay as it is now until november". I have jut phoned them again, basically because I was bored and wanted something to do! This time I got a different operator who said "I cannot do anything for you at the moment, but your contract is up for renewal in November, meaning we can begin to offer you upgrade deals from the 5th of August". He then gave me his name and told me he would phone me in 3 weeks, and said that I could qualify for up to £20 per month of my line rental as I had been with them for over 3 years! Naturally I won't be taking their first offer. I like the rest of you, will be holding out for the deal that is to good to turn down!

at the end of the day, I'd be very happy with 300mins/50 txts for £5 a month, and with the extra £25 credit i'd be :rotfl:

even without, that would be okay for me without the hassle of cashback..

Hi guys...need ur advice for my retentions deal.

    been offered (all 18mths):
    1) VTT700 17mth free-no fone
    2) Personal plan (their version of flext 35)-with nokia e65- £26.25 a mth

no 1 is a very cheap deal but short of my usage requirements...no 2 is more money but gives me a fone that i want and meets my usage requirements on the dot (600mins 600sms).

If i take no 1 i will have to get another line to supplement which would still be cheaper..but has hassle of carrying another mobile with me (already have another offpeak line).

Which deal do you guys recommend i take?

    Cheers.
