Like many others I have just taken the £5 a month deal 300min 150 txt £5 downloads etc, I have a slight problem in that my phone is playing up, but they told me its covered under a 2 year warranty (which I didn't know) so I'm sending it back to be checked out next week and hopefully will be sorted.

I could have gone for a cashback deal and got everything for free, in fact I have received my last but one cheque today on my existing cashback deal (Phonebox direct aka mobile media systems) but it's worth the £60 a year to avoid the messing about and waiting to see if they are actually going to pay out my claim!

In addition since I have always sent my claims by special delivery to avoid any possibility of a loss (and if the forms did get lost I was insured for the balance of the cashback deal) so the cost for 5 claims (last year) has been about £25 anyway, all in all taking this deal has probably cost me £35 and a free new phone, but I haven't got to worry for the next 12 months.

At the end of the day, I would rather go for a decent retention deal than go through the cashback bother. My last 3 ctt is up in Oct/Nov, and having been with them for around 5 yrs normally with 2 ctts on the go, I will be looking for a retention deal at that time.

Thanks to all for keeping this thread up-to-date, and long may it continue :D

I'm after the vtt700 free for 17 months offer but every time i ring up to 'query' my last date of contract - i get a different deal.

The latest was 500 min / 100 text for £7.50 a month - but still not good enough

I was offered something like that, wasnt very impressive in terms of offers. So I cancelled and gave the 30 day notice, but they called last week and offered me £18 for 18 months deal. Might be worth cancelling and see what they offer a week before termination.
    ummm...

Umm no problem, I accepted it!!! its extremely good value for 500xnet mins!!! To be honest when he offered it I didnt believe he was calling from 3 and verified by callling 3 customer services just to be sure!

  • £18 for 18 months is an excellent deal and something I will be looking into myself at renewals time. Even if you later decide you want out of the contract it's only going to cost £18 to get out of it! 3 have some good phones plus the ones currently being offered out on their website which can be bought as payg phones then you just swap the sim,or have a look around, there are 1000's of new/reconditioned unlocked phones for sale!

Well i got a call back from redemption.

I wanted a 12 month contract so was offered 11 months free and just pay for the last month.

A credit has been placed on my account of £275.

HOWEVER - have just checked my3 via my phone and the £275 is showing as a positive amount ie under "What you've spent since your last bill" - is this correct?

Should this not be a negative £275?

    Ta
