My pac code runs out on 20 may and I have been offered the typical deal of N95 (recon) for 10 quid a month but for 18 months! Told them I do not want to be tied in that long but got nowhere. I have two phones on two separate contracts. Been with them 2 years and spent loads. Last year they did me a brilliant sim only deal with cashback but stopped cashback due to pressure they say!

18 months is a long time to be tied in specially in this credit crunch period.
I might not have a job in a years time!

Should I hold out for a bit longer or is 10/month for 18 months the best I can get?

    Kind Regards

You must do what you feel is best, personally I think its the best offer you're likely to get.
  • I have only been on 3 for 18 months on I think it is called the direct 1400 tariff. Gave my 30 days notice and it was due to end on the 1st May 2008. At the time 3 were only offering me the same deal as a new customer. I even phoned them up again and they still would not offer me much of a deal, just £2 off per month if I took a N95 on a 1100 contract and they would not reduce my monthly charge if I kept my existing phone. However, on the 28th April I received a phone call from 3 customer services from a special dept. (was actually to my landline as afterwards I saw they had tried my mobile but my phone was in another room as I was at home at the time) and was offered a brand new Nokia 6500 slide with 500 mix and match contract for £10 per month inc VAT for life with the option of another upgrade in 15 months time, as the customer services person said that I was a valued customer as I always paid my bills on time. I have hardly ever over spent over my monthly charge and if I had spent morethan my monthly fee it was only by under £1 each time, which was probably only 2-3 times such as sending the Navicore sms abroad (~ 25p) and phoning a friend's foreign mobile when he was in the UK the other week (80p). I had used the refer a friend a few times.

I did over 2 wks ago take out like another person on this thread the Vodafone offer of a refurbished N95 8gb on a 12 month contract with £100 Quidco cashback because I thought that 3 weren't going to offer me anything good as I had only been with them for 18 months. I did take the £10 for life offer and now I am thinking of perhaps using the 3 sim in the N95 8gb as Vodafone don't lock their phones anymore. Just got to find out about setting up the N95 8gb so I can use the 3 Skype, access Planet 3 etc. 3 is cheaper for internet access too at £5 a month.

Do you think that 3 will want the 6500 back if I upgraded with them in 15 months time as part of the future upgrade offer? My current direct 1400 3 contract gave me a N73. So I am deciding if I should sell the 6500 or the N73.

Any thoughts as to which phone to sell and how to get the N95 8gb set up to work with full 3 services would be appreciated. I hope my info is of use to some of you.

    Talk and text 600 (500m/100t)
    Nokia N95 (silver)
    18 months

    £10/month

Been on 3 for 3 years.
  • After various offers from 3 which were not suitable for me, I gave 30 days notice on 30th April.

Call received last night offering a refurbished N95, refurbished LG or brand new SE k850i, 300 mins 3 to 3, 300 mix and match units, lots of Skype minutes (which I dont understand) for £10 a month for life.

As I wanted a k850i anyway, and use about 150 mins and 150 texts, I jumped at this offer. Well chuffed. Hope everyone else gets deals that are good for them.

I gave up on them as they kept offering £15 per month for 250 mins/50 texts which is worse than a new customer - rather than chancing a cashback deal, I have taken out a new deal with 3 through their website - £18 for 500 mix and match, £47.50 cashback from Quidco, £30 RAF, £20 voucher (ask online support a question before you buy) and free Nokia 6288 on a six month contract (still available this evening - 18 month contract but you can cancel in six months ... and hopefully get a new one at that stage!).

    6x£18=£108-£47.50 Quidco = £60.50-£30 RAF= £30.50 for 6 months - phone currently selling for £50+ on ebay.

(if you prefer you can get a Skype phone but the Nokia is worth more if you are planning to sell it!)

    I'm actually quite surprised!
18 month contract ends on the 20th of August, just had the first of the retentions calls, a lot earlier than I expected
Some of this is probably due to the fact my phone has been in for repair twice now, and I keep putting off sending it in for the third time, as they still haven't fixed it. (The flip is loose, and in testing they don't seem to be wiggling it so the phone doesn't crash), and also the fact that I've quite often spent cash on other numbers as this is my only phone.
Oh, have also been in contact with the press office (Executive office is worse than useless, simply forwards to Indian CS), over problems with the Refer A Friend offer, so overall I think I've given them quite a bit of grief lol.
    Current offers:
6500 slide, MnM 500- £10 a month, was originally MnM 300 before haggling.
N95 (The only thing that'll get me to stay if its at a decent price) 500mins/ 400txt- £30
Was tempted to take the N95, but I never touch the text allowance for more than 1 a month and they didn't want to put it onto MnM to get shot of the texts.

    Sony Ericsson W660i - 500 mix&match, 300 3 to 3 mins - £10 a month.

The funny thing is that I hardy use my phone and they offered me this deal but they wouldn't offer the same deal for my wife who used to get close to her 500 minutes a month.

I've now gone payg and the missus has the new phone & contract.

Another thing, just after you've had the offer confirmed just phone up 3 and say "you've just been offered a deal but the line went dead so you don't know what you've just been offered". They will then confirm with you what's on the computer.

If this is different to what you think as been offered to you than it may be well taking the case up with them now, rather than waiting for your first bill.
