    Plob, when was this?

    Thanks

last friday, fiver for the 500 mins and 100 text for 12 months. i have the xseries gold so all in its costing me 15 pm.
  • well after callign for the last time, I took the approach of asking about 18 month contracts. I didn't really want to go 18months, but then I thought about it logically i.e. could I be spending the same amount over 18 months as I would be 12 months - indeed I could.

After a good old haggle and being offered the exact same deal as a new customer, I stated I was unhappy, and the only beneift I would get was keeping my same number, which to be honest I wasn't bothered about. Then the friendly operator let it slip that we could work out other deals. Being intrigued I was happy to hear more. Basically I got offered: 300mins, 150 txts, 25 vid mins, 25 mms, £5 downloads for £10 a month over 18months with a nokia 6120 (but I'll probably sell that and keep the old one - which they said they would look at repairing for me too).

I'm currently on 400mins and 250 txts so yes a drop down, but £25 cheaper - it's worth it. I'll just monitor my usage a bit more. On average I'm only using 264mins and 97 txts a month anyway. So I'd rather have a cheaper rate over 18months and cut the cashback out.

This was just completed literally before I typed this post!

    keep plugging on people!

I have been with three for two years and currently in the last month of my 12 months contract.

My price plan is 500 minutes and 100 texts for 35 pounds a month.

I contacted them yesterday and this morning again. What they are offering me is 100 minutes and 100 texts with Nokia 6288 for 20 pounds a month.

I asked for my previous plan or any mix and match currently available for new customers. They just refused saying the only available offer for me is the one I have just mentioned.

I threatened to leave three; no reaction from them.

I am surprised at their behaviour.

I paid my bill by direct debit all the time and there has not been any delay at any time in paying the bill.

I have recently made my wife buy three contract mix and match using 'recommend a friend each getting 30 pounds in 60 days'. I do not know if it is playing any roles or not.

I am not understanding why three is behaving in this way.

    Any thought please?

I also noticed three can be upgraded via Carphone Ware House and the upgrades they are offering are completely different from the three offering by themselves.Has anybody got this experience?

    Thanks in advance.

  • I couldn't get anything out of them, I gave notice 30 days ago and waited for the amazing deal call which never came. I spoke to them again today explaining how I was very unhappy (for 35 mins) but they wouldn't budge. In the end I took the 300 mix and match deal for £15 (same offer available on their website for any customer) as my contract runs out tomorrow and on looking at other providers it's still the best offer around.

    Ah well, maybe next time....

Was it the same person that offered you that deal? Don't know if it will help to call back and try again although they prob log what offers they have given you. I lost out on the 12 months half price last year by 1 day as it changed offers overnight in the middle of the month.

If its that bad it might be worth either letting contract end and getting a new 3 contract with quidco or similar cashback and new number or getting your pac and moving altogether. But that offer is really bad compared to the ones in this thread they must be crazy

You were paying a lot for that 500 and 100 texts at £35 a month anyway. I got the 750 mins 150 texts for that at 7 months half price as I just missed the 12 months half price and I was really mad.
    Thanx

I rang 3 to change to PAYG at the end of my contract, which had the 30 days left.I was offered the usual deals and refused saying their not good enough etc.I then received a call from a completely different dept who offered me the 500/100 deal I've found the best way is to keep quiet and wait for them to come to you.

  • Just got off the phone after a drawn out phone call. Originally offered discount then 300 mix and match for 15 with sony ericcson k800i at 15 pound a month. As stated in last thread contract does not expire till may/june and paying £25 a month at the moment.
I phoned up and said that I was going to go with virgin media who have £10 deal 300mins and 300texts with no phone. I had about 20mins of a girl trying to pursuade me that i was better having the 300 mix and match for £15.00. I said that is a worse deal but she was not having it. Then she offered me extra minutes to start with. I refused. Then she offered me £10 a month deal 200mins 100 texts and 50 mms and 5 downloads. The catch, a lower phone. Now I like my sony ericcsons and the one she offered k610i I have used before so quite happy with that deal. Phone not in stock though. Tried to offer me an ericcson slide phone which I did not want at all so we reached stale mate.
I think time is on my side so I am going to wait. My advice to people who are not getting a £10 deal is when you phone up appear remorseful about having to cancel your contract, almost guilty. Know your information, but act innocent and when they offer you somthing better act pleasantly surprised. That was my fourth conversation with them so sometimes it can take hard work

no phone, 12 month contract 500 mins and 100 text £5 pm. that will do me

I've just asked what deal they could do me without me having a new mobile phone and I got told that they can't offer me anything without me having one.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Forgot to mention that apparently me getting the same deal that any newbie could get was good as I would not have to change my number as a newbie would and I was also carrying on the fact that I was a loyal customer so I'd get good deals in the future.

Have got a question. My contract ends 12th March, so to avoid getting any more bills after that, would I have to end my contract now?

Yes - your contract ends after the expiry of your month's notice - not at the expiry of your minimum period (12/18 months).
