I have to say, it seems like lots of people are going about this the wrong way. If you go in all guns blazing, you won't get the best deals they could offer you. Yes, deals seem to be account/useage specific, and yes they do seem to change on a regular basis. I've always found being calm and polite with them helps, and one big factor - PATIENCE. 3 called me 4 or 5 times during my notice period, and only came up with the 500/100 @ £5 a month for life the day before my expiry date.

Also, if they really don't offer you anything you feel able to accept, start afresh, buying through quidco for cashback. 3 do some good amounts of cb via quidco, and the tariffs are still pretty good value. However, beware the cashback phone retailers, they're getting worse and more are going under....remember the golden rule - Buyer Beware....

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

I can tell you I was polite, calm, pleasant and it wouldn't have mattered how it would have gone that was the only offer on my account. I wasn't happy at all obviously with that so I had to speak to the manager. I felt it an insult to me after all these years and more so as he said it was account specific. Whoever is in charge of this at three just hasn't got any brains at all.
    Thanx

I am sorry Lippy but you have really cheered me up tonight, you are soooo melo dramatic its funny. It is a phone contract women get a grip! :rotfl:
Onto three it is a strange one, I rang up for my mum who got a w910i and as things have changed since their new tarriffs I agreed to one with them(mix and match) for £30 a month, now he told me I(my mum) was elligable(sp) for three's loyalty bonus of £12 and therefore the contract was/is £18 a month! After reading all about them at the minute I can understand your madness but I rang a few times and just said not interested and will cancel. Now I find that being calm and nice goes a long way when it comes to getting a good deal as if I(in the past obviously) ranted and raved about being a "fantastic customer bla bla bla I honestly think they were taking the piece as a way of getting off on it :D
Good luck with your retensions people and Lippy if you're on maternity leave perhaps you should stay away from ringing three eh? Don't want you working yourself up now do we you need to look after mini Lippy :)
I await the next episode with great anticipation

Damn... I'm a bit tired, and thanked you for that post instead of quoting. Why am I being melodramatic? I've not got worked up ringing them. In fact I'm quite calm about things as I got such a good deal with the contract I'm on now and I'm aware that getting a deal for £3 a month with a new phone isn't going to happen everytime. People seem a lot more angry about things than me too.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

That deal has been on quidco for quite a while now hasn't it? What do you mean this weekend only and how did you get the £19.50?
    Thanx

It's on a banner when you link in through Quidco. Also through Hotdeals.
