3 Retention Deals

3's retention offers have really gone downhill compared with 12 months ago. I did the "I want to cancel" routine last year. I also told them I liked my existing handset and was going to get it unlocked to use on a another network. I then got offered no phone deal of 100 mins + 100 txts per month for £20, half price for 9 months plus £120 credit on a 12 mth contract. Do the maths - £2.50 pm over the year!
This time round, nothing other than the standard offers - not even a no phone deal. The best offer was an N73 for £15pm, same minutes & texts, with a £1 loyalty discount after really pushing them for something better. The sales pitch of one of the operators was laughable. "An N73 for £15 is brilliant offer." "But I don't want a new phone." "But you get a new phone for £15 a month." "But I don't want a new phone." and so on for 5 minutes.

Well, everybody I have read on here waits until 30 days before contract finished before they try to wangle a new deal. I am on 18mth contract and over the last 2 mts have lowered my tariff from £35, to £30, down to £25. My contract is not finished until June 2008 but the last time I phoned up I asked them when my contract finished and they put me through another section. The lady said that they were able to renew my contract with an £10 discount and a new phone. Not a great deal but round about what they are offering everyone else. Difference is they were letting me out of previous contract 4-5 months early. Therefore saving me £10.00 straight off for the next four months which I would have had to pay anyway.0

I got a call from three on saturday and was offered, n73 500 mins/100 texts for £10 per month over 18 months. So they're still offering this deal it seems not to everyone tho.
Last year i was offered 100 min and texts for 12 months with total cost of £6.00 in the final month.
I asked for my contract to be converted to PAYG and then got the call 2 weekx later.Should get the phone on tuesday.Finleypop x :hello:0 -

Whats the n73 like? I called to put a months notice in even though it will overide my contract time (left it late) and they said that department wasn't open so I couldn't do it and to call back. Then I forgot so it's even later, have to call tomorrow.
Did you actually go onto payg or did you say do that when contact ends?
Do you think they will give that offer out if you ask for it?Thanx
