  • Hi my two contracts are coming up for renewal in March with 3.

I have been with this network for 2 years and I am paying £30.00 and month for each contract for 500in any x mins and 100 text.

Please could someone advise on the best deals for 3 at the current time I open to other offers by other networks which offer 500 any x network and 100 text ono.

    Thanks in advance

Hi, Ive been with 3 for quite a few years and was on the same contract as you. At my last renewal I changed my package for the same mins and texts as I already had but the price went down to £15.00 a month for each!
Just tell them what you want and that you will leave if they cant improve the offer. Ive always found them very approachable and willing to negotiate.
    Good luck
  • As mentioned above, don't choose the upgrade option go straight to through to disconnections and you will get a much better deal. Don't just accept their first offer if you don't think it's good enough. I was in a similar situation and wasn't happy with the offer from 3 so told them I would go ahead with the disconnection. I then received several calls from a seperate team (think this is customer options) and was offered a better deal.

In the end I got out of my contract with 3 and made approximately £250 on a contract that lasted only 6 weeks but I got to keep the Nokia N95 but that's another story!

    Watch out guys.

I got my paperwork today and it does not mention the £10 loyalty discount, nor does it mention the extra 500 text messages.

I checked my bill online and my £150 cashback credit and £20 loyalty discount are there :)

Hope you get yours sorted out.
  • I called and wrote to Three asking to cancel my contract about 2 weeks ago and just received a call from the Three retentions team today.

They were offering me 500 minutes and 100 messages per month along with a free handset (didn't ask which one) for £5 per month. The deal was £5 per month for life and not just for a 12 or 18 months.

When I've spoke to other people at Three regarding upgrades they've basically offered me the same deals that are available in the Three store and they've all denied that they offer the £5 for life deals anymore.

Just another warning for you if you're thinking about a retentions deal on 3. I've mentioned this on another thread I started, but it's worth note:

I agreed to a new deal with an N95. Firstly, (and possibly least importantly right now) they did not honour the deal to send me the 8gb version, and ostensibly there is no evidence of my making this deal with the adviser.

Secondly, when I decided just to go with the normal N95, I had problems right away - it made a high pitched whining noise whilst I used the phone, and phone numbers saved in the contacts were not showing up in incoming texts/calls - just numbers were shown, rather than names.

I complained to Three, stating I had a faulty phone, and they offered me a replacement. At the same time, I heard from someone at Phones 4 U that 3 often give out refurbished phones as upgrades.

When my new phone arrived, there have been stark differences to the first which makes me think that my initial "new" phone was indeed refurbished. The first phone came in a non-3 branded box, whereas the second phone was covered in 3 branding - as does the back of the N95 where the battery goes. The second phone had that lovely "new electronic product smell" - missing from the first one. Both phones had different instruction leaflets, and the new NEW phone asked me my location on startup, rather than going straight to date/time. Oh, and the second one works!

The best deals seems to be offered by disconnections rather than upgrade. I am 2 months away from the end of my contract. I would like to know if anyone has got a good offer from upgrade rather than disconnections.

Hubby thinks my phone is a refurb as well, but I'm not sure about that, as it's suppose to be quite new. But it does freeze a bit and I've only had it two weeks.

More drama, as 3 are now saying they couldn't have offered me deal xyz blah blah blah, I've had enough to be honest and told them they can just come for the phone and pretty much get lost. :rotfl::mad:

  • Can someone confirm that the £5 / £10 deals are direct with three and not via a dealer

They are if you can get them! Has anyone managed to secure a good deal recently - requested PAC over a week ago and no call...
