3 Retention Deals

Phoned 3 wanting an iphone 4s to match the t-mobile Deal
of Unlimited data, Unlimited text. 2000 minutes for NEW white iphone £69.99 for phone and then 2 year contract £26 a month.
So 2 year Deal £693.99
Had just ordered one of these last Sunday for son and wanted the same for my wife. She is on a discounted sim only contract
£8.27 which gives 500 mix n match mins, 3300 3:3 calls and 2gb data. (I get more mins than the wife and get 900 mix n match for £7.38 sim only)
Three offered the one plan with the phone for free at £34 a month
So 2 year deal £816
They put me to retentions and they offered phone for free on their ultimate 500 at £29 a month for 2 years. This is however a "refreshed phone". So over 2 years comes out at £3 more expensive and its not even a NEW phone.
So a "refurbshed" phone £696 over 2 years. Now if it had been a new phone would have taken the deal.
I've heard how difficult it can be to get the PAC code and blimey I found myself getting more and more angry. I repeated "I want my pac".
Phoned T-mobile to order add a second iphone 4s to our account and following my frustrations with 3 wanted to see if they could match the deal I have for £7.38 and they could not :-( even commenting "that is a good deal")
So my wife has been with 3 since 2008 and PAC code ready to be given to T-mobile.
I knew when I got my £7.38 (used to be £7) Sim only deal that it was going to be hard to beat.
Well Wife will be hapy bing on t-mobile as she will be able to get a signal in Sainburys!0 -

If it was me, I would've stayed with three on £8.27 a month sim only tariff (which btw is a cracking deal in my opinion) and bought the 4s direct from Apple. Works out cheaper overall for 2 years without the need to get yourself in another 24 months contract. It ofcourse depends on your circumstances because I appreciate that you will need to pay over £400 upfront for the phone.0 -

I considered that as an option as it what I did to stay on my £7.37 deal. Finances just after Christmas just did not allow it.
Also 2 years of £8.27 =£198.48 Iphone 4s unlocked from apple store £449
So would work out at £647.48 over 2 Years
Compared to the t-mobile deal (which has just gone up in price so the sales people were not lieing) £693.99 and gives unlimited texts/calls/data
I am hoping that in 2 years time t-mobile will give us a good retention deal sim only. Otherwise will unlock both phones and move to giffgaff.0 -
Hi
Update on my £7.37 retention deal that I have been on for 2 years.
Have taken order of the t-mobile sim only offer and hopfully topcashback tracks -looking good so far-.
Sp phoned to get my pac and explained I need to have a signal at work and they said they understood and then the phone went dead.
Not phoning back and used e-mail for customer complaints requestig PAC. But says
"We’re looking into your complaint and we’ll get back to you within 10 working days."
So will probabley need my PAC before then so can see myself having to phone in again.0 -
Phew took under 5 mins to get my PAC. byebye 3 and hello t-mobile.
We did not get any further retention calls on the £8.27 a month and PAC given to t-mobile.
Its lovely to have a signal at my desk.0 -
I gave 30 days notice for my Sim only deal. They wouldn't give me the same as the Virgin Media 1200 minutes for 12 pounds. I am currently getting 600 minutes for 12 pounds. Can I expect a call back or should I just go ahead and order the Virgin Sim.
They offered me 1200 minutes and 5000 texts unlimited internet and a 130 pound phone for 18 pounds a month.
Not for me though I just want a nice and cheap Sim deal.0 -
Going to call three this week and ask for a good sim only deal. Anyone had a better offer than website deals?0

Although it sounded like if i cancelled now I would of had to stay with them an extra month anyhow and pay £37 (meaning my monthly contract but rolling two weeks from now). The only way to avoid paying another full month was to just upgrade to their 1-month sim-only deal for £9.90 and then cancel that in two weeks (i.e. giving 30 days notice for that tariff).
Even though I'm saving £27.10 next month - am I giving up "better" upgrade deals that would usually be offered at the end of my 24 month contract by switching to 1 month rolling contract?
Very complicated! Anyone have an answer?
Got the same sort of response - rubbish offers even though I've been with them for 10 years but offered the 9.90 sim only deal for the last month (this does not cover the minutes I use). Not being offered anywhere near some of the deals mentioned on this thread. No better than general public deals plus 3 to 3 minutes thrown in.0 -
Got my pac code yesterday and just got call from Three offering 500xnetwork minutes, 2000 3to3 min, unlimited text and all you can eat data for £11 with free alcatel touch 905 phone - two year contract....not sure if 4g will be available free when it becomes available if im already in a contract...0

Hi folks
Not sure if this is the best place to post this, but it's relating to three. I'm currently on a 24 month contract with Three. I am coming to the end of the contract, and am due an upgrade on the 15th of May. On Sunday my phone broke, I took it out my pocket and the screen is black with white lines, think it must have been pressured by something in my pocket. Will cost £65 to fix as i've had a couple of quotes. I don't feel this would be justified due to only needing this phone for the next couple of months before I upgrade. I'm happy with Three and would like to stay with them.
Does anyone know what my options would be? Would I need to pay an early upgrade fee? Could another company buy me out of my contract?0
