Finally managed to negotiate Samsung ace 500 min, 2000 3-to-3 mins, 5000 sms, and all you can eat data for £11/month. Also promised not to tell about this deal to anyone as it is a very specially ofer specially for me:)
Those sneaky 3 people. Thats a standard retentions deal :) They also do 500 mix & match, 500mb data and a Galaxy Europa for £8 a month.
  • Just phoned up today about wanting my PAC to switch over to a T-Mobile £26 a month plan.

The guy wouldn't stop trying to get me to stay, even though he told me I'd been a customer since 2005, he would only offer me refreshes phones for £31 a month.

Kept telling him I'm leaving and I guess that's what I will do. Customer Service is a joke after being on hold multiple times while he "spoke to his manager"
  • Really, nothing new in nearly two week?

    Have 3 given up?

You have to ask for your PAC to get any form of deal. Threatening to leave wont achieve anything.

I don't think even that works these days, i had my pac code nearly a week and not a murmur from 3.

in fact i have come to the conclusion that 3 are actively trying to get rid of anyone who has a decent deal with them or loyalty discounts going back a few years.

My pac expires in a few days and nothing.
  • I know this is a long shot, but has anyone had any good deals for iPhone 5 or Samsung S3?

Also while I'm here, my contract runs out in two weeks - but I forgot to put my 30 days notice (probably do that today). Since I've overshot my 2 weeks, do I have to pay for another month with them?

just call and give the notice now and you will pay for 30 days (i.e. just 2 weeks extra), but be prepared to spend at least 15-20 min hearing them begging you to stay with 3:)
  • I called them last night and said I wanted to cancel. No surprises he tried to get me to stay!

Although it sounded like if i cancelled now I would of had to stay with them an extra month anyhow and pay £37 (meaning my monthly contract but rolling two weeks from now). The only way to avoid paying another full month was to just upgrade to their 1-month sim-only deal for £9.90 and then cancel that in two weeks (i.e. giving 30 days notice for that tariff).

Even though I'm saving £27.10 next month - am I giving up "better" upgrade deals that would usually be offered at the end of my 24 month contract by switching to 1 month rolling contract?

Very complicated! Anyone have an answer?

Has anyone had issues with fraud after trying to cancel?

I have two accounts with 3 and both times after requesting my PAC code (several months apart) there has been "fraudulent activity" on my account where an unauthorised upgrade was requested and posted to an address at the other end of the UK.

My problem now is that I want to cancel my account but I am unable to do so whilst their Fraud Team investigate my case - this has been going on for over four weeks and in that time 3 have obviously taken another month's payment from me. Unfortunately, due to their policy, they wont discuss anything about this fraud so I cannot even do anything to prevent it happening again (if it's a password that needs changing et.c.).

Not very happy at all with this and was wondering if anyone else has encountered unauthorised upgrades that have been processed minutes after ringing up to cancel a contract. It's happened to me twice now and I struggle to believe it's a co-incidence.
