Do your research what you can get in other places.
Request the PAC and wait for the retentions department to call you.
Don't go to a store unless you want to hear lies and to waive a cooling off period.

Hi I was due an upgrade with 3 December 11 (6months ago)

I hadn't renewed as no phones had taken my fancy and was reluctant to take out a 24month contract!

My husband came home yesterday with the rather lovely Samsung galaxy sIII I am rather interested

Should I try Instore on over the phone?

three retentions are not offering any good deals atm. :(

You call up 333, complain about bad signal indoors when outdoors is fine and that you have heard that they offer a signal booster to get round this now.

In the local 3 store I was told about a flexible upgrade so I called 3 and I have been given something called a flexible contract. You get £5 off your present contract -it lasts 12 months but you can upgrade at anytime.

Although it's not the best deal I've seen here, given my old contract it's ok for now while I see what other offers come up in future. I had been thinking of going on the SIM 600 - 12 month All-you-can-eat data which is £15 pm - I'd be interested to know if anyone has managed to get a reduction on this.

But for now in my case for £10 pm I have -
    300 min / txt
    5000 3 to 3
    2gb data

I've bought the Xperia U from CPW for just under £200 (including £10 vodaphone sim) and so far I think it's a really good small handset.

Its the same as a new customer offer on Ultimate Internet 300 but with no handset charge.

Depends what you want out of the package really as everyones 'good/best' is different.

They played the old "I have to ask the manager" trick on me. They are smart. I will have to cancel that and ask to go directly to get the PAC code.

Count how many times they attempt to talk over you every time you ask for the PAC code.

Took four goes to get mine but then they call you up the next day with much better offers.
