3 Retention Deals
Comments
-
Just had a call from retentions as my sons contract is up for renewal. I was offered 2000 mins, unlimited 3 to 3 calls, unlimited texts and unlimited internet plus a Nokia C3-01 all for £22 per month, not bad I thought but my 16 year old would rather pull his eyelashes out than have this handset. I thought I would chance my luck and ask for the iphone or Samsung Galaxy 3. I was told that they will be changing the tariffs for the iphone on Monday/Tuesday and he would call me back.
I wait with baited breath :rotfl:0 -
Three normally change their tariffs at the beginning of every month. Looks like they offered you the C3-01 on the One plan but discounted from £30 to £22 in line with their usual £7/£8 'loyalty' discount.
If it came with an iPhone or similar then could be a reasonable deal but with that phone its an absolute joke.
Unless you need all those minutes you can get 250 mins, unlimited txt, unlimited data on giffgaff for £10 a month if you are happy with your existing phone which makes the 3 deal very overpriced.0 -
Many thanks for the reply, My 16 year old son will be using the phone. I was unaware that he could talk as I have only heard the odd grunt for the last year or so either when his phone is not working or he needs food
but seemingly he can, and does talk and 2000 minutes are needed.
I will await their call and see what they offer0 -
If you really want to get their attention, ask for the PAC code (it will take a few attempts before they give it to you as they put up a good fight) then wait a day or two and someone from the second level team will call you back with 'proper' deals rather than stuff that is on their website.
Asking for the PAC is just notifying them that you want to leave but it spurs the into action as they dont like the idea of someone leaving hence the phone call from the second level team.
If you dont use your PAC within the 30 days, nothing happens and you continue on your existing contract so dont worry about asking for it.0 -
I requested my PAC code from Three a few days ago having had no luck getting any sort of 'loyalty' discount.
Their retentions department called to offer me their best deals, apparently only available to customers about to leave. They offered no more than what I'd get as a new customer. They wouldn't match the offers I'd get on their network by going through a third party such as Carphone Warehouse. They also lied to me about other company's offers and pretty much talked over me.
Just one example of their BS:
Me, "I only use 250 mins, 500 texts & 500mb. I can get all that with Tesco for £7.50 per month."
Three salesman, "No, there is vat on top of that, the total cost would be £10, we can offer you 100 mins, 3000 texts & 1GB for £7"
Me, "But I need 250 minutes, the extra 150 mins on top of that contract would make it over £20 a month."
Three salesman, "Yes that is true, well I can offer you another contract...."
They don't listen and then try to trick you into unsuitable contracts.
Do your research on the competition:

If they can't offer you what you find elsewhere at a better or equal price then firmly request your PAC and leave.0 -

How much minutes, texts and data do you need? How much are you looking to spend?0

about
300mins
u/l text
u/l data
they keep quoting me the same as new customers or offer me a crappy samsung phone for a 24month contract at £13 per month :mad:0 -
How much data have you used over the last 12 months? Chances are you don't need unlimited internet in which case the other networks are quite competitive.
If you do need unlimited internet, Three are the only option at £15 on a 1 month contract and they know this, which is why they won't budge.
If you're willing to pay a bit more, T-Mobile do unlimited texts, minutes and internet for £21 on a 12 month sim only.0 -
I use about 3-4 gb a month
Looks like I will just have to go with the £15 a month plan!!!:(0
